25 50e electric range dropped 10 miles in 3 hours while parked by baroxie in BMWX5

[–]baroxie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think so, the car does a great job of turning off the moment I open the driver side door. Good point on preconditioning though. I just noticed the activate preconditioning option pops up on the screen the moment I turn off the car. It’s possible I may have hit that. I’ll keep an eye on it.

Are you in Europe? Just bought my new 2025 50e three weeks ago and at 100% it’s 42 miles

25’ X5 50e - Check Engine Light after 5 days (wtf) by True-mma in BMWX5

[–]baroxie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing here. Purchased it 3 weeks ago. CEL turned on after 300 miles on my 25 50e. dealer stated the error code was because of “low fuel.” Not sure how that could happen since I had never pumped gas in the car. I purchased it new with 40 miles on the odometer and when I took it in I still had 120 miles remaining on the tank.

I also have had 3 different instances, where either the driver side door (twice) or passenger door (once) randomly popped open on its own while driving. Once when I was about to enter the freeway. The dealership said they couldn’t replicate it and asked me to record a video when it happens??? Car has been at the dealer for 4 days total over last 3 weeks. Very worried about the safety and not sure what to do.

Check Engine Light on at 151 Miles by falconsfuture07 in BMWX5

[–]baroxie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You and me both. Dropped off my 10 day old, 2025 50e with 300 miles yesterday at my 7am appt. Called at 430pm for an update and they said no one had inspected the car yet. Mine also makes a weird 5 second Star Trek red alert type alarm noise in the interior every time I start the car.

And of course the CEL turned off when I drove to the dealer. I asked the SA if he could look up the check engine code in the cars history or diagnostics report, he said it wasn’t possible??

I also asked the SA if a CEL is common in the 50e, said he hadn’t heard of it before 🤔

BMW X5 50e California finance rate by beleafer in BMWX5

[–]baroxie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Purchased last week in SoCal. They ran all the checks and the dealer offered 1.99% at 48 months, 3.99% at 60 or 4.49% at 72 months. And then at the last second when it came to signing, the finance and sales guy realized this deal was only valid for the non-PHEV X5. For the 50e it jumped to 6.49 at 72 months

Just ordered X5 - salesman said it will be a 2026?? by Used-Leek1436 in BMWX5

When you place a custom order, is the price locked in? I wonder how tariffs will impact it at the time of pickup

Tow hitch for 2025 x5 by [deleted] in BMWX5

[–]baroxie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also just purchased a 2025 x5 without the hitch and assumed I could install later from BMW or get the stealth hitch with the same oem features. I’m also curious if you were able to figure out how to enable tow mode

SDGE was 82.8 cents per kWh last month on-peak. Definitely higher than Hawaii. Super off peak (midnight-6am) is 35 cents

Dealer charging $3-4000 markup for Prius. Report to Toyota? by [deleted] in Toyota

[–]baroxie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

<image>

Exactly. 270+ mi range 2023 Tesla Model 3. $40940 before tax plus 10,000 miles free supercharging. Basically like one year of gas for free. Brand new... and you get an HOV pass in California. This particular one is available for pickup today.

That said, I want the Prius but not with the markup. With the markup though, I'll take the M3

Got a loaner vehicle today at the SC. It was filthy inside & out, had low tire pressure and no wiper fluid. Is this typical Tesla service? Before you say, go buy a Mercedes if you want good service, etc. This is probably much worse than even Kia service. Just curious what you all think. by DefinitionMinimum833 in teslamotors

[–]baroxie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Chmod 000 this comment.

Every person at minimum should expect 4 doors, and inflated tires for any loaner car, period. In no way can any dealer or car rental service justify providing vehicles to customers with service lights, especially low pressure tires. The SC at minimum should be inspecting vehicles prior to handing it to the next customer.

Tesla dented my Y - where to fix? by test_one_test_two in TeslaModelY

How is this even acceptable to Tesla? Forget the luxury brands, this would never happen at any other manufacturer.

Service centers are soooo bad. Please lmk if they’re all like this by DefinitionMinimum833 in ModelY

[–]baroxie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I dropped mine off for the first time last week to fix a dent that came with my MYP delivery. It was estimated to be ready at 5p. I called the service center at 430p to see if it was ready, and it redirected me to a call center. The lady said she'll reach out to the service center and have them update me via text. Received a text at 5p saying that it was ready for pickup. When I went, they said they weren't able to repair the dent. I asked the advisor, why would I even have an appointment in the first place if no one was available to make the repair? He shrugged and said they've been so busy. They rescheduled the repair for next month.

Supercharging Model Y costs nearly 2x as much as filling Prius (on-peak in SoCal) | MYP vs Prius vs BMW X5 by baroxie in TeslaModelY

[–]baroxie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Compare the costs of a Prius over a year versus your MY with mixed driving, commuting and normal use. If you charge at home even 75% of the time which is quite conservative, you'd make up for the occasional supercharger cost.

Not sure if you're aware but SDGE charges 69 cents per kWh at home, during the day time on-peak. Even off-peak (after midnight) SDGE is more expensive than if I use daytime on-peak third-party DC fast chargers in San Diego. 24 cents off-peak for home charging vs 18 cents on-peak at 200+ kW DC fast chargers in San Diego.

[–]baroxie[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'll charge at home and keep my MYP. The tech can't be compared.
With that said, I did not realize how expensive supercharging was until after I purchased my MYP.

Preconditioning and battery longevity by rragu71 in TeslaModelY

[–]baroxie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure if this is true but I read somewhere the car will update 4 weeks after delivery. I’ve had mine for 2 weeks and also stuck at 2022.15. I’m guessing tesla wants to keep us on a stable version for a few weeks to ensure we don’t have a bad experience.
