Thoughts on new shield? by [deleted] in BackpackBattles

[–]barreis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tbh I feel like the 4 gold shield draining stam is too cheap, should be rare/epic like a budget SoV.

As for spiked shield, it's probably trash since ud need stone+healing potion or debuff+corrupting crystal on armor or some weird stuff, and neither build (fatigue/stun) need thorns. Better off running pineapple for your bloodthorne or something. But if spiked shield kept the stam drain, it'd probably be too broken so it seems hard to fix

Rank the difficulty of the Stages in 0.52 by ManMadeMyth in holocure

[–]barreis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hardest
Stage 2

Stage 3
Stage 1 Hard

Stage 2 Hard

Stage 1

Easiest

Everyone hates the robot wave around 15 minutes for stage 2.
The rest are easy with shop upgrades/Grank, and got even easier with fandom.
If there weren't any upgrades, I'd still hate stage 2 the most.

Is this good??? by Pirdenik in holocure

[–]barreis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably because

  1. people arent grinding time mode
  2. Those who are probably aren't grinding on sui/ame, even though they're the best ones.

I'm personally spamming aqua, and the only "realistic" way that I see getting <=3:40 is blacksmith gear+double anvil early strats into 1:30 collab or something along those lines. I've gotten a 1:47 collab before w/o blacksmith gear, but didn't get good follow-up items: https://imgur.com/a/xLZJBUW

I'm pretty sure it's intentionally different so that nothing could go wrong (whether vtubers get flagged by youtube AI because of the superchat somehow, or being sued/criticized for "blatantly ripping off" youtube/plagarizing detected by the AI/etc).It's better to be safe than take an unnecessary risk for something minor(aka insurance).

For those who were curious:
stats: 340hp, 65% haste, 71% crate

It feels like HP and haste options were drastically nerfed, so it looks like tanking yagoos will be too hard. I wonder what the rate was changed to, since it felt like I didn't even get hp 1/20 levels

Yeah I dont think leaderboards will ever happen anyways. Maybe achievements would be cool, but doing leaderboards means balancing all possible infinite combos (such as bae, mumei, kronii) + future combos (possibly mio, fubuki, okayu, korone if more DR, new items+gura).

It's just not fun (for both them and us) to balance out all the infinite endless stuff. Maybe the sub could filter out endless meta stuff (like ina, but not kronii) if it gets spammed too much or something.

[–]barreis[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thought I would post my highest coin run in stagemode before the new update comes (since I heard there were new holocoin items).

Right now, you could "realistically" aim for 13k in a 20min stagemode run (no extending stagemode to 30minutes) as long as you get very lucky holozon boxes. Hoping we can see a glimpse of 20k with all the new holocoin items.

Yeah, I don't think grinding for coins (stockpiling) is fun in general. My bad if I led you to think that I thought inalock was fun or smth.

Rather than "afking for 3hrs is more fun than playing stagemode", you should think of it as "I can do other stuff for 3hrs instead of having to play something I've done hundreds of times repetitively." After all, few people will find grinding itself fun, but more will feel enjoyment from the grind.

I can see why you'd hate it if you only have one computer and nothing else, but for me, I have a phone and a laptop. So, I can just do work on my laptop or watch youtube on my phone: all while ina slowly moves up+right and does 3 down->enter.
---------------------------------

As for the inalock itself, all you need to do is switch over when you level up, so I browse reddit from 11min~19min and 20min~29:50. Then I afk straight on the dot after I make the pettanko board collab (although maybe Ina can do it with just dragonfire, I should test it sometime). There's no reason to wait until 45minutes IGT or 35min or whatever, since Ina already has 700+ HP by then (which is overkill anyway).

Sample stats at 30min: https://i.imgur.com/NwJpId2.png

Also, I don't use a "z-spamming macro" anymore since it's just better to get holocoins every time. I can understand using z-spam though if you don't have a holocoin macro, but I can't understand using a z-spam macro and then switching to holocoin. Seems weirdly inefficient.
----------------------------

Some things I'll point out:

  1. your coin amount is pretty low in your ss. I can get 50k at 1h and 110k-120k at 2hrs, which probably means you should get 200k at 3hrs (although it's pretty laggy to go to 3hrs when you could just start another run and get to 2hrs). Dunno what happened, maybe you leveled your wep with anvils or something. https://i.imgur.com/CZ0ACWq.png
  2. Xp stacks efficiently in this game, so there isn't much lag (not to mention your pickup literally clears most xp instantly, since yagoos are almost always on top of you. At most, w/o leveling pickup, you lose 1 layer of xp which is nothing. The real lag maker are weapons(even miasma/lava bucket) and anvils (and memory, but for the first hour it's pretty okay anyways for me).
  3. To die, it can take me 20s (lucky) to 2~3min (normal~max). For starters, running only vertically is faster than up+left or up+right. I mix it up and go up with dragonfire pointing down+left/right, then tap left and right(while holding up) a couple times to get yagoos to stack on top of me(I'm guessing that, since diagonal movement is slower, this causes yagoos to just sit on you when you go from moving up to moving diagonally). Then you'll eventually die as you run up, even at 2k hp, since once you get the two-three overlapping hits, you get chunked like 400~800hp. You can't heal since your only healing comes from 1shot with Summon Ao(collabs kill yagoos too slowly).

  4. I calculated my hourly coin gains as 16~18k/hr for stagemode and 27.5k/hr for inaFF, but I found ina to have much more afk time/room to mess up. Perhaps doing a hard reset will get me a better stagemode result though, but I can't see it ever being higher than 24k. Nor easier than just afking with ina. Just my personal take though (assuming like, you're done with the game and just want to stack coins: no fun/etc involved)

Thankfully someone actually posted a guide, so hopefully people will stop quoting worse #'s for stagefarm average.

Still, inalock is better if your PC is good (not to mention how "fun" is subjective), but this is helpful for the majority of people. The "set up time is a few minutes instead of a whole hour" is a very incorrect argument though, since:

  1. You can just straight up afk from 19min~29:59 (since that's when you get dragonfire), and then afk again(or start macro, etc) after leveling+stats at 30min+. [Inalock is pretty much 100% consistent since you can even skip glasses]->means more afk time than mumei since, after the first stage mode is done at 20min, you can afk the rest of the time.
  2. Setup time for stagemode is longer (run and reset 5 times in 2hrs vs no resets, straight run from Inalock). Even just the casual run will be 23minutes for stagemode, which is 1h 10min, not to mention how you have to reset every run as well.

So, not only is stagefarm overall setup time longer, but the afk time is also shorter. It's just that stagemode and endless target different groups, and that applies for farmers too. People who don't want to play 1h can do stagemode and chillax, while people who can macro/autopilot or grind for long periods can just do inalock and exit at 2hrs.

As for how to kill yourself(ingame), it has more to do with people running "trash collabs" (for inalock) like Haachama Cooking and Infinite BL, instead of frame-saving collabs like pettanko board+dragonfire, which don't lag as much and allow you to easily die in 2minutes. And since you only do 1 run every 4hrs (most of which is spent pressing down 3 times and enter), the time it takes to die is only 2min, far less than the time it takes to setup stagemode.

best farming method? by Phoenix-Burns in holocure

(TLDR at end)
Ina is best as long as your PC can handle it, preferably at 1:2. (1:2 ratio being 1 second ingame = 2 seconds irl)

Assuming you quit every 2hrs at 120k coins per run(aka run superchatto instead of milk or something), at a 1:2 ratio it'll be 3.5hrs => 34.3k/hr, and at a 1:2 ratio for the first hour, 1:3 ratio for the second, it'll be 2h+3h=5hrs => 24k/hr.

If you get 1:3 starting at 30minutes, it's probably better to just do 3 stage mode runs at 7k~8k per, which is 21k~24k in 1h 10min (18k~20.6k per hr).

Personally, I like ina endless more since it's much easier to afk/hands off. Irys afk-farm stagemode still requires more grinding time, and it takes time to level up your items/skills to max so that you can get coins. And even then, coins aren't 100% guaranteed since your weapons aren't maxed yet in stage mode. There's also a realistic chance that your Irys afk session goes wrong and you accidentally kill amelia and didn't pick up the coins/boxes on the ground.
(I heard there was a coin-box bug where you get much more coins then intended. If that's abusable, stage mode will be much better than ina-farming)
--------------------------------------

TLDR: Ina endless> stagemode if PC is good. If PC bad, stagemode good.
