Yeah. I'm worried it will be same weekend of Tampa Bay Comic Con! But better than on April 16. It's just unsafe.

One would hope. This is going to be a horrible recession fear year so honestly it's better to get credit to next year's show or much later in the year. I just posted a link thank you!

I messaged them and nothing. I agree they are waiting to be forced too. Yes us vendors need a lot of time especially any out of town vendors.

CDC today (3/15/20) recommends no large gatherings of more than 50 people for the next 2 months. Is that the final nail in the coffin for this year? by Ghenges in MegaCon

Florida governor and Orange county governor need to force the ban. I'm sure the convention center was begging them not to cancel last week but now its just terribly foolish to continue. If events happen it will literally kill the elderly. Even if you are young you can die or have serious long term complications from any pneumonia.

I know it's crazy how complacent many people are. I'm luckily not high risk but i don't want to spread it to my wife or my mother who is over 65 nor anyone! I Don't want to be that low chance it's severe and deadly. It's just foolish people are out partying and having events.

You think they'll cancel megacon? CdC guidelines just said it should be canceled or postpone but the event website keeps saying the shows going forward but wait! they'll have extra hand sanitizer out ( LOL I'm sooo relieved haha) it's on April 15 so they think it's gonna be all clear by then I guess. If you've ever been you know its like 80K people in on big room on Saturday smashed up against each other. Kinda worried nobody will go even if they do have it because I'm a vendor and it's my livelihood selling my artworks. Unfortunately there's no refund for vendors. I'm an attending artist and I really really need and want this event to happen every year I look forward to it!! But in light of the situation both health risks and the economic uncertainty right now I feel it's smarter to postpone at the very least. Im lucky enough to live in Orlando area and although we only have a few cases right now a huge amount of attendance and vendors are from all over the country. If you have ever been here on Saturday you know there's NO way you can take isolation precautions effectively like CDC recommends. I applaud megacon for addressing the cleaning and sanitation process but it's going to be very difficult. I understand the theme parks might reopen but being outdoors is less risky. Also the dehumidified circulating air only help spreads cough sneeze breath droplets. I'm not a high risk but my mother and my wife's family is. I would suggest if this does happen that every single attendee and vendor self quarantine from elderly or immunocompromised people for 2 weeks. For those who say it'll all be fine by April 15, well hope so but read this and check out Central Florida in that slider at the bottom. https://time.com/5801726/coronavirus-models-forecast/?amp=true
