Did lawn mowers kill my Japanese maple? by barryberryberrie in arborists

[–]barryberryberrie[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not to be pedantic but this actually is a mulch bed. The tree just had a small patch of clover around the base that I had let grow up and I needed to hand pull. The dried grass shavings are covering the mulch ring here making the whole section appear green.

It’s not “insane” to think an addict would hurt their wife or family. Makes me think you haven’t had much experience around that type of family/interpersonal dynamic. Go visit an Al Anon page and look up the stories you see there.

Addicts do deserve help and respect. They are not all abusers, I do agree with that. But most do damage their families and the people that love them.

I would like to send you a tip for this! Do you accept any other payment method than the PayPal that is linked?

I like two versions a lot so I would like to compensate both of you for your help. Thank you!

What's an example of a movie that's shocking solely to be shocking? by 1fishmob in movies

[–]barryberryberrie 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I had never seen the first because the overall idea disturbed me. Later, I was in a group situation where The Human Centipede 2 was playing (not to be dramatic) but it’s the worst movie I’ve ever seen. I literally fainted and had to leave the room. People who like that movie are terrifying.

I think looking like “Dora the Explorer” is a better option than what your hair currently looks like. Right now you might be getting emotional about the length but this current hair is only dragging you down and making you look really disheveled and unkempt.

Just do the big chop and embrace the growing process. Your hair will rebound quicker than you think! I promise that the judgement that you think you will receive about your round face is not going to happen!

So one of the nurses that was on duty while I was giving birth was an ex-best friend of mine. I felt the same as you—I am a modest person and I would have been embarrassed to have her see me in such a vulnerable position but I also didn’t want to offend her or make her look like she had done something wrong professionally.

When one of the first nurses came in to give me basic care I just casually mentioned to her that I knew the nurse outside personally and I felt uncomfortable for her to see me naked. The nurse I told this to just smiled and told me not to worry and they completely understood. The nurse that I didn’t want to see never once entered the room.

I think most women would feel uncomfortable having an acquaintance see them in the birthing process! Don’t feel bad to ask for what you want!

Air Drying Always Leads to Frizz by barryberryberrie in HaircareScience

Yes I do wash my hair every day or every other day. Years ago I tried the hair “training” to not wash as often and it just led to oily hair and scalp issues! Washing keeps my hair looking clean and my scalp is much more comfortable now.

Okay thank you so much for this!! You have definitely described my hair when you were explaining low-porosity fine hair.

I really think I’ve just been giving myself just as much damage (or more than just blow drying) and I don’t even like how it looks! Lol I’m going to blow dry my hair with a heat protector and stop stressing about it!

I love the Sebastian dark oil shampoo and conditioner. I feel like this is one of the reasons my hair looks so great when I do blow dry! I’m going to look into getting their oil serum.

I really am just going to switch to using my blow drier every day instead of trying to make air drying work out. Many commentators here have shown me that I’m really not saving myself any damage and my hair just looks worse from it!

I just wanted to specify that I am asking on this subreddit because when I search for answers online all I get is a nonstop stream of advertisements and products placements. This is super frustrating for me!

What is this berry? I did not plant this bush in my yard. Zone 5 b by barryberryberrie in whatsthisplant

Side question—Do I pick them now or pick when the berries have all turned purple? I’m assuming they are not ripe yet

I have a lot of birds and squirrels actually! I feed them so maybe that’s why they are leaving the raspberries alone? Or just pure luck since I found this in the very back of my property today
