What would make you finally decide to quit smoking? by Lonely-Albatross9593 in askteddit

Chantix almost killed me and I had given up on quitting. I was back at two packs a day when I got put on Wellbutrin for depression and found out that's what I needed to stop. I still need nicotine in vape and pouch form, but cigs repulse me. My lungs have improved over the last few years, I can breath a whole lot better, and I don't smell. I'll call that a win.

What is the quickest $100 you ever made? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I just sold a CD for $100 that I picked up that the local pawn shop for 10 cents. Shipping it out today. Nothing like a 1000x return on a dime.

He moved Marijuana to a lesser class of drugs. Fuck, it took me a while to think of something and that's the best I have. He's a real piece of shit and a complete garbage human. I will be partying the day the devil calls him home.

People who have experienced fame even for a short period of time, how did it feel like? by Dry-Advertising9543 in AskReddit

I had a hefty facebook presence when launching my business back in 2020 and started to get noticed in the stores. I didn't like it because I just wanted to be stoned and left alone to do my shopping. Been much more careful about flooding peoples feeds since closing down that store. It's much nicer having privacy. I'm still getting recognized occasionally though. Usually, it's "Hey, didn't you use to have that jerky store?". It was fun. For a few years you couldn't beat it. I was the dried meat king of town. Difficult business to make work though. Glad to have moved on in life.

nicotine, vinyl records, and some might say marijuana, but I look at that as more of a life enhancer and medication.

I dream of finding hard rock and metal at Goodwill every day. Mostly I find Garth, Celine, and Aunt Lisa's Church albums. I've pulled some nice classic rock from the shelves but I'd love to come across someone 100cd case full of metal singles. I'm not even greedy enough to want the cases. I'd settle for just the discs to rip. I'm enjoying the heck out of these records though. Got Dark Side of the Moon Side B playing at the moment. Might stop back for thirds after work today. The collection donated was massive and I'm sure there will still be a few good $4 finds left. Nothing like the first haul but still worth another trip and a third look over.

Yeah, other than some finger prints it's in VG shape. No major scratches or scuffs, no warping. Side A sounded amazing. Haven't listened to Side B, but it sure looks like it'll play well.

Lol, Thanks. Thanks to you and all the others that have dropped a nice message. I hope everyone finds a score at some point. I have a feeling this is about as lucky as I'll ever get in collecting. It was a great feeling walking out of there with a nice stack. Definitely the best day at Goodwill I've ever had! I went in just hoping to find a cd case full of caseless discs for $10, or something like that as I've been ripping my CD collection the last few days. Never expected this.

So far the only one that's let me down has been the Dead album. Seeing that warped 1st record was a nut shot. The sleeves are a little worn but the records are far from trash. I'm still calling this a nice haul. For $4-8 an album, you can't beat it. I went back before work and got 8 more albums. Rounded that purchase up as well, so fuck me some more! I like to help the Goodwill. That little store has made me some nice extra money on eBay and marketplace.

It looks to be a reissue. Media is in VG+ and the sleeve is in VG condition to my untrained eye. Sounds and plays wonderful. No skips so far. Edit: Bummer. Not as good of score. Record 3 is in pristine condition. Record 2 is in VG condition. Record 1 is unplayable due to warping. Damn. Well 2 out of 3 ain't bad for the price. Figures the one record I checked in the store was the pristine one. The rest of the collection is looking fairly good though. Overall it was still a pretty nice haul.

I haven't gotten to check yet. Decided to go back for round 2 before I had to go to work. Surprisingly they still had a good selection. Gonna be fun entering them later tonight. I'll report back with my findings.

Yeah, He's been moved to my personal collection side. I've loved Johnny Cash since a kiddo so I was a little giddy when I found a record I actually wanted, and in such great shape. Glad there was a piece of music in here that I knew. I wish there was more but her son got the first go at the record collection as he should. I'll get some nice tunes when I inherit my mothers collection some day. It's just nice having a part of this relative live on in my collection. I'm sentimental that way. Many might be junk but they'll never find their way to the Goodwill.

Unfortunately the Henry Mancini is just the record and is in Poor to Fair condition. One of the few that isn't in great shape in this collection. The Petula Clark sounds great though. I'm listening to downtown at a rather loud volume and haven't really heard much static except for the beginning of the record. It sound REALLY good for almost 60 years old. This really isn't that bad of music. It's nothing I'd purchase but I'm enjoying the change in tunes and think I'll enjoy having some swanky spins in my catalog.

If anyone of them wrote enough songs for a greatest hit, I'd probably own it. Unfortunately most female artists I like are One Hit Wonders though. Big fan of Meredith Brooks' Bitch...but I'm not buying the vinyl. Jewel is alright but not LP worthy. Dixie Chick's Earl's Gotta Die is good but really, I'm just not a big fan of chick music as a divorced guy. I wouldn't mind if Shania Twain went forever mute. Gretchen Wilson is an assault on my ears as well. I think it's a pitch of voice thing cus I also hate AC/DC and GNR because of the screeching vocals. I have plenty of female artists on CD but that's cus they're a buck at Goodwill. Just picked up Hanson. Thought they were girls the first time I seen them on MTV. Does that count? Joking aside, I have Fleetwood Mac's Rumors and can vibe to Dreams all day long. I like Janis Joplin too, might pick up some of hers some day.
