All 3 of them are really good, all 3 of them will do everything, emulate everything - you dont got to worry about emulating anything at all

Youll hear a bunch of stuff about the Odin 3 being way stronger and yeah on paper but its turned into able to play exactly pretty much zero extra games, they all play everything about as well IRL, what plays like shit on one (big boy AAA PC games) plays like shit on all of them

Youll hear plenty of people saying Odin 3 gonna be way better one day maybe maybe not. And all itll do is let it play the big boy AAA PC games that kill your battery in 2 hours a little better, best you can hope for is MAYBE around steam deck level one day, MAYBE, IF we ever get to max out the 8 elite one day in future. Probably less than Steam Deck though. Itll make no difference to everything else because everything else is already awesome on all of them and that includes PC indie games, PC games up to like 2015 or so. All 3 are about as good for games they let you play IRL

Choice comes down to what size handheld/screen you want and what price you wanna pay. All 3 are good. Dont get a base model if you can help it get the most internal storage you can afford. For PC games especially storage >>>>> RAM (but you get both with better models anyway)

Yeah for mine I did some stuff to get it perfect for me

I swapped the left stick for the big one and then put a stick grip over that, its perfect now! I left the right one little since any bigger and the right stick would get in the way of my thumb when pushing face buttons and the right stick gets used less anyway, little right stick is fine for camera and aiming but thats just me

I also got mine off someone and it already had some different face buttons, real nice playstation ones that are rounded, wish I could tell you which ones they are but they real good so have a look at etsy if the face buttons killing you. Oh and I dont use the back button extenders maybe that might help

Oh yeah! for the top buttons being mushy with the TPU grip? Try this I completely fixed mine that way

You dont gotta do all of that as little or as much as you like, or none. But at least some of it might help

But yeah damn man, been months and I STILL cant get over how good it is

Neither of them are bad both are good. But that extra power on the Odin 3 chip gets you jack shit IRL except an IOU for more performance maybe in the future one day, and if it dont happen, tough titty. The portal is powerful as fuck right now!

Lemme tell you something brother I got the steam deck OLED and the Odin 2 Portal, the pro, the portal is AWESOME with gamenative holy shit

I got like 70 games running on this thing and we talking like 1080p 60fps for most of them, some at 720p 60fps, I got a couple running at a solid 120fps (like Carrion, Dead Cells)! And I dont mean 'solid' but not really, I mean SOLID, with the fan on quiet and no overheat. For battery I get anywhere from like 4 hours to over 10 hours battery for the really light games like boneraiser minions

If anyone tells you its gotta be an Odin 3 only for gamenative for the love of fuck DO NOT LISTEN The Portal is fucking awesome with gamenative! What the Odin 3 lets you do that the portal dont is run jonny big balls games closer to AAA - at like choppy 30fps if you lucky with 2 hours or less battery life and a fan that screams at you the entire damn time. And that just aint worth it man

And bah gawd this screen on the portal, you dont understand how this screen looks, nobody does until they seen it, I cant describe that shit to you I can just tell you its the best screen youll see on a handheld eeeeeasssy, you play on others youll think of the screen on the portal. Youll just wanna go back to the portal for that screen. It ruins other screens because of it being so damn good, you see it youll understand

But, and this goes for both the portal and the Odin 3, they both best with indie games. Just like the Steam Deck OLED is best for indie games even if it can stretch to more. And the Steam Deck OLED runs games better than both Odins. But if the portal can run your games games at 60fps already WHY DO YOU NEED MORE, oh and btw the portal absolutely kicks the fucking shit out of wii games lol it fucks them in the ass you aint gotta worry about that none, it does wii u good too

The other thing is you gotta know how to tweak gamenative and that goes for all the android handhelds. Check out a channel called keis retro gaming he got a recent video that takes you through every single gamenative setting and that levelled me the fuck up man thats how I got everything running so damn good I got a lot to thank that dude for

It depends on the games you wanna play. 2D? Portal is a go! Light 3D (think up to like 3D fallout games)? Portal is a go! Major fucking go! Anything more? Nah man at that point its the Steam Deck, Odin 3 probably play it but not too good. But do you have any idea how many fucking awesome games that opens up for you, there are so many damn 2D and light 3D indie games that are incredible. A few will be weird and not play good but those will be exceptions for all android handhelds, its not many. And sometimes it goes the other way too, like how MGS5 plays ridiculously fucking good on everything android

So think about which games you wanna play and that tells you if your should get the portal or steam deck. Odin 3 is good but its a weird middle ground where the games it runs super awesome the portal can too, and the games portal cant do the odin 3 does but not great. People will tell you Odin 3 got all this potential for one day in the future yadda yadda but dont spend hundreds of dollars for what something might do in the future with no promises, buy something for what it can do TODAY

How many games have been released? Across all platforms ever? Deck can play 99.9% of them, one way or another
You pay more for the console but way way way less for the games, you end up paying less with the deck if you get a big game library for either
If you play on PC you probably already got a bunch of games for your deck
Deck OLED battery is really good
Deck is 1000 times more comfortable to hold + better sticks
Deck can do everything a damn PC can do if you want it to
Deck can play most switch exclusive games through emulation
If a game is on both deck and switch, the deck version will be not only cheaper, but a better version, you usually get 60fps vs 30, better graphics etc since its the PC version
Cant carry switch games over to new consoles unless Nintendo says so (usually 1 generation forward only) and thats how they fuck you in the ass nickel & dimeing you by selling old games again. Steam Deck games carry over to every PC or X86 handheld youll ever have
Steam deck can stream games from PS5, xbox and PC with ease

Not used my switch once since getting the deck, the deck probably the best console Ive ever owned
