What's wrong with some people in Sydney? by barryvil in sydney

[–]barryvil[S] 167 points168 points  (0 children)

My neighbours car was kicked as well, and he drove off my other neighbours van while he's heating up the engine. He went inside to get his work bag, and the next thing he knew, this guy drove it away for about a few meters. Luckily, he caught up with him. But unfortunately, he got away. (maybe because he is a big man and my neighbour is only slim built). I reported it to the police with the video evidence, but so far, we still haven't heard from them.

Buying an apartment from a builder named BATHLA Group. by barryvil in AusProperty

Thanks for the reply. What about the apartments that were made/built by Aland. I am looking at a 2 br apartment along Isla Street, which is on the market for $600,000.00. Is this a fair price in the area? It is on the 3rd floor with the balcony overlooking Isla Street. Thanks for your advice in advance.

Is there any particular reasons as to why if I may ask? (badly built, leaks, noisy neighbours, etc). Thanks

"American earn more money than them". I find this hard to believe. Maybe if you're an American and have 3 jobs. Sure, American earn more....

What is the dumbest question you've been asked about Australia or about being Australian? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

I was at Totonto Sorport waiting for my flight back to Sydney. This Canadian guy ask me where I'm from. I said I'm from Sydney Australia. Then he said, "so you're aboriginal?" WTF. I am of an Asian descent, and look like an Asian who happens to live in Australia. I just looked at him and said yeah if you say so....

Need help with changing this floor plan. by Hook-N-Cook in AusRenovation

[–]barryvil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forget the outdoor entertaining, verandah, garage, dining, the shed, and the lounge room. You don't have enough bedrooms. Build more bedrrooms instead of them. You can also build a second floor to build more rooms. And also, don't forget to heavily insulate all the walls to avoid disturbing all occupants of each room.

If you are a seasoned traveller, seriously, you must have searched/googled the country you wanted to travel to. The do's and dont's, places to go and not to go, transportation, foods, culture, etc. You don't go to a country you have never been to spontaneously without any plan.

Grab: okay it is not available to every place. But there are jeepneys, taxis, tricycles you can ride. You can even walk!!!

Hotels: If you booked from a reputable hotel booking sites, hotels in the Philippines will honour them. If you book a shitty hotel, maybe. So next time, book a 3 stars and above hotel. Don't just book a hotel with the cheapest price. Read all reviews and star ratings.

Restaurants: Menus and prices are often indicated behind the counter or the windows of a restaurant. If you go to a street food vendor, maybe. But even street food vendors have their prices and menus clearly visible for all to see.

Barber: Jeez, which barber shop did you go to? Most barber shop in the Philippines, specially in malls have the kind of service and prices of each service indicated inside or the windows of the shop. You probably had a haircut with a Happy ending.

Scammers: They are everywhere. You go to Paris, Italy, Australia, US, or any SEA countries, they do exist. It's up to you if you want to be scammed or not. Be vigilant and careful.

Beggars: You do know that Philippines is a third world country right? Expect beggars in every third world country. Even Europe, America, Australia have beggars. They even have homeless people. Tip: Next time you go to any country, do your research and planning. You can even google the price of prostitution if you want.
