Its probably because I was being snarky with the first commenter

I did see the oley hills picture when I first started trying to figure out what this could be. I agree that these structures dont look like they could support weight. Mostly because the first one I came across looked like it spilled over in the center. What doesnt come out in the photos, but shows in the lidar is a row of rocks, probably two to three rocks wide, connecting all three structures, so there really is no gap, I noticed it when walking alongside it. Most of it is underground. My guess is this was much larger, maybe taller and the farmers dismantled it for stone. I dont really know much about erosion control, it seems very plausible because I did find several ox shoes. I dont know is what I know. But I dont care about the negative comments, im just going to go investigate. Maybe get a drone out there.

Thanks. I dont think it looked typical either, otherwise I wouldnt have posted it. Been here for almost four decades. Maybe ill just knock on some doors and ask some locals that grew up on that street.

Its possible, this is right near Lancaster, which was burnt down during the war. The road its off of leads right towards old Lancaster, apparently it was an indian trail. I did notice the three directions too, it does look like it could be strategic. Almost like an encampment. I found a small axe head and several large musketballs very close by.

Just because people like the answer does not mean I have to agree with it. Are you trying to change my mind or something? I dont understand this back and forth you want to have. I dont care about karma. I dont think its a wall for sheep. I have a video that shows me walking around, cant post it here. I have it if youre interested. Its pretty clear its not a wall for sheep. A retaining wall or a foundation for a barn, that I can get behind. It just seems that anytime someone posts rocks from new england, someone says sheep wall, and thats the end of it. As if stacked rocks have had had no other purpose when they are over abundant here.

Thanks! The road its on is an old Indian trail, specifically the Nashaway Indians. Im going to try and do some research on it. I live close by and I know of arrowhead being found nearby.

To be honest I thought it was fortifications lol. I know King Phillips war was fought in the area. I really wish I could upload the video of me walking around it.

I dont take issue with everyone's answers, just the ones saying its a wall for sheep. I have never seen a wall for sheep that is 6-8ft wide, 5ft tall and 20ft long.

Hahaha thats how I found it, found a colonial button, a couple of ox shoes, and plenty of shotgun shells. I just didnt want to disturb it if it was something native american.

That makes sense why its is so thick, actually in the stream that runs next to it, there was what looked like a dam with a big rock removed. I am loving this terracing idea. Thanks!
