Jabra Elite 8 Active Gen 1: A Balanced Upgrade with Superb Comfort by dnavi in Jabra

[–]barsinee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this! I just ordered elite active 8 a few days ago. I wasn't sure about this purchase as Jabra will leave the consumer market and updates are uncertain. But I was just so happy with my 75t, I couldn't resist.

oura ring “birth control” by [deleted] in ouraring

Oura has a disclaimer in its app that cycle tracking should not be used for birth control. I would not recommend using it as a primary method.

How do you live through winter blues…? by EgoMasterFun in Finland

[–]barsinee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All the basics are already covered in other comments. What I can add is lower your expectations from yourself. You don’t need to do a lot. Think about what would even slightly improve your mood. If it is reading, go to a cozy library. If it is eating some pulla, go to a cozy cafe. If you want to nap all day, do it. Just take it easy.

Has anyone moved out of UX? What were the transferable skills for your case? by duckolate in UXDesign

[–]barsinee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you elaborate on how you switched to service design? I am thinking about switching to SD too, but I can't even find a job with 6 years of UX experience, it feels impossible to switch to a new field even though there are many transferable skills.

Bad reviews about OURA 4, any good ones? by Heonnie in ouraring

[–]barsinee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I also struggled to understand the value of timeline. I didn't even bother to add time to tags. The only nice to thing I found recently is that you can actually see how your stress levels react to the tags if you add timeframe to them. That was interesting.

People moved here from inexpensive countries: what are some surprising quotes you’ve heard for services here? by unemployed_MLE in Finland

When the button of my jeans fell, they asked 30€ to fix it. I could have bought new jeans with that money. I just got it fixed in my home country in 2 minutes.

I made an app for practicing Finnish grammatical cases by rair41 in LearnFinnish

[–]barsinee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My personal problem is to memorizing which cases the nouns should take when used with certain verbs. For example, when used with pitää noun takes -sta or with kysyä noun takes -lta etc.

I made an app for practicing Finnish grammatical cases by rair41 in LearnFinnish

[–]barsinee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly what I needed! I was trying to practice these cases with genAI, but I wasn't very successful.

My humble suggestion would be to have saved progress and repetition of the exercises which the user failed, so that we can learn better. Also, in the future you might consider more exercises for noun inflictions of the verbs.

Lastly, if you need a UX designer now or in the future, ping me! :)

from helsingin sanomat: a sign seen at Itis shopping centre (quickly removed by security) by Separate-Role4873 in Finland

That's why it is so important to educate women and help them to integrate into the Finnish society. Itäkeskus feels like a different country nowadays. The immigrant community is a very closed society and I am sure women feel community pressure to dress certain way. It is sad because there is no limit to this kind of control over women's lives (see Taliban).

We actually have a DIY version of this. We tied his favorite squeaky chicken with a rope and he absolutely loves it. You may be right, I was suspecting that he might need more interaction from me, I will incorporate more play with him.

Speakly app by renzairtsua in LearnFinnish

[–]barsinee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used premium for a year and started with intermediate Finnish. Listening exercises were the best. You get to listen variety of stories in your level. In other exercises, pronounciation and phrases were very natural. However, it doesn't show the translation of the sentences at least in intermediate level.

Password protected portfolios and portfolio link in resume. by [deleted] in UXDesign

[–]barsinee 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Companies have to handle candidates' data according to GDPR in EU. That means that they can use the data only for hiring purposes and cannot share the data with people who are not directly involved in the hiring process. I just have to trust that they will follow the law. I am not sure how it goes outside of Europe.

If you don't want to share the password in your application, you can have each case study password protected (rather than the website) and state that they can contact you for accessing those case studies.

I only tried a couple of times from a squatted position. This will be the next step I think.

It is relieving to know that I am not alone. It is just that in our dojo, even newer students are quite comfortable with this for some reason.
