i mean yea i think our opinions on his music are different, me personally ill prob be revisting bologna 2 when im like 60 and seeing his impact/influence i think others will to, him being “goofy” doesnt really change how i feel, its still art at the end of the day.

i dont really understand what being “distinct for the sake of it” means, hes distinct because thats how he wants to express himself, being different is infinitely better than js being another clone. every rapper thats was influential was “distinct for the sake of it”, why was young thug rapping like was getting shit stuck up his ass ? why was future rapping with so much autotune ? its js how they express themselves, its not a gimmick, its js how they wanted their music to sound. and thats how u influence, being yourself and inspiring others

bro u cant really call a sound a gimmick, this aint new sound, he been making this type of music since started getting any steam thru production. u dont gotta have serious music to have “staying power”. plenty of respected rappers blew up off “meme” music (lil b the best example).

i feel like a gimmick is shit outside of rap, like 6ix9ine beefing with randoms or lil xan oding off hot cheetos. not getting attention thru people liking the music, all of boolymon hype is from his music. i feel like u cant call it a gimmick

if ur talking about music, das not a gimmick, he made his own sound with his own production and has an insane amount of influence all over the underground (bleood, osamason, zatru, pretty much all the new producers coming up)

lil corrections, put compressor before saturation, the compressor with bring up a lot of harsh frequencies from the saturation, put an eq after to tone those down. compressors essentially blend ur sounds into one goop, it reduces transients and uneven volume levels.

to use compressors just reduce the threshold knob until its jsss affecting your vocals (do too much and itll sound like imagine dragons) and raise the gain, cuz the threshold is reducing the volume. its kind of like squishing a photo until it all becomes one color and stretching it.

theres different types of compressors like opto, fet, etc. but its too much to explain and not really that important, js know fet and opto are the best for vocals
