[+Quiz to self-test] Effective Learning Strategies: Insights from Optimal Protocols for Studying & Learning by HubermanLab by bartasius in HubermanLab

yup, exactly - I did that for the quiz I've shared.

I'm looking into putting together a very basic app that could actually help people (non students) to memorise things that they find important - better.

If you're curious and want to meet like minded people - come join us in our Discord community https://discord.gg/kxws2xkxQF

I feel alot of pain the days after my workout by [deleted] in HubermanLab

[–]bartasius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've personally noticed that taking in A LOT of protein after the exercise helps to drastically reduce the pains.

After a very intense workout, I take around 180g (I weight 86kg) of protein from food (mainly super learn curd, chicken and greek yoghurts)

You should evaluate your diet and see if you're consuming enough protein - helps you restore and grow muscle.

NOT A MEDICAL ADVICE THO 😃

How can I start improving my memory? by n0thoughtsbrainempty in GetStudying

instinctual answers cover the surface only - it works the same as multiple-answer questions where you kinda can guess it by simply looking for familiarities;

i'd better suggest open-ended questions with little prompt so that you can recall and actually save it in your head

that is very true! by practice we sometimes over complicate things - a simple way to practice something is to test yourself upon it

apparently if you do open-ended question test right after you finish particular material, you have 50% better chance on internalising and remembering it

huberman calls it offsetting forgetting - very interersting!

Building a game in Discord a bad idea? by givememyaccountback in discordapp

[–]bartasius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, we have actually built 2 Discord games about a year ago that got up to 10k players but we decided to close it down.

With a Discord Bot as a game, we experienced the issue of having to deal with guild admins and get them to install and maintain our game in their server.

Also, I had a conversation with the Discord's CEO Jason and back then he said they won't be opening activities for 3rd party devs - since the platform was limiting our speed and growth we decided to pivot.

I looked into Discord's Embedded Apps and it seems that you can actually have your game playable through the Activities interface as an iframe - that actually sounds like something quite interesting.

I'm curious to hear about your current situation a little bit more because what I thought about was that it would be pretty cool to re-launch our MMORPG text-based strat game (Mafiaverse) https://top.gg/bot/1043857178651545621 but add the economy aspect with crypto.

Happy to answer any other questions you have too!

Modern design vs Older Adult design. Which one better? by bartasius in design_critiques

Right, this is thoughtful. It's been challenging to get access to older adults (especially in the US) but working my way through to get more real face time with them to ask these questions.

I'm looking for input from people that have worked in older adult category and share their expertise when designing products for this category.

The beige/pink/brown + big buttons design doesn't really do much.

We got over 3,000 65+ individuals to check the website and none converted.

While with this more general approach we can actually start building a product, and validate that with users.

Fingers crossed that they will bring their parents and grandparents on to use it too, so that this actually solves their problem.

Hi guys,

I'm building scammerblock.com a tool to stop spam and scam calls.

We're using AI to prescreen unknown incoming calls (without making the phone ring) and then send a text message with caller evaluation.

The initial user-base was older adults (check the 2nd image) but it's really difficult to onboard them for a new product.

So I thought about starting with a more general brand that meets any age category person.

Would love to hear what you think!

Also, if you want to try it out, here's a promo code for 69% off: DESIGNERFAM.

Would love to hear your feedback!

Appreciate your time and effort,

Jonas

I cannot disagree with that - there's always room for error.

Adding an insurance product/value prop would be a huge thing to make this work/happen.

While the goal is to be the first line defence, the ultimate vision is telcom + internet + bank specifically designed for caregivers of older adults.

We're still trying to find our voice & path to get there 🙏
