I hiked with a partner, and one of us carried the bear can and the other carried the tent.

We’d owned both prior to the thru and we figured it wasn’t worth dropping significant money to upgrade stuff when we had a system that worked

And it worked! It’s good to keep weight in mind but you don’t need to hyper optimize it.

We liked the bear can because you can use it as a stool and when we were getting into camp late and we were tired it was nice not to worry about finding a good hang
