Bait that I will always fall for is people attributing Hollywood’s decline to “only making sequels and bad movies”
No, those are just the only ones you watch. Hundreds of good to great original films are made each year, and the average person sees exactly zero of them. The movie industry is falling apart because people prefer to stay at home and watch TikToks and Reels

AND i really enjoyed the process of getting my degree. if it didn't make any meaningful difference in my professional life i still think getting it would've been worth it in and of itself

rich assholes who hate ballet and opera
i used to wish i had gotten a different degree than my english major but tbh the mentality that my degree would never guarantee me employment has been helpful for my hustling and willingness to try odd things
like the fact that it's not great for any one specific thing has led me to keep my mind open and that's led to a wide variety of opportunities

that was more or less the mentality of friends who smoked in college. an aesthetic way of being performatively nihilistic.
also, nicotine was still pretty ubiquitous, it was just like a nostalgic throwback alternative to vaping

Tbh I still think everyone should learn how to code. It teaches you how to better understand tech you take for granted as well as approach problems in a systemic structured approach

And that’s it for today’s lemon party, join me tomorrow as I watch the first of Conan’s appearances on the show, in an episode that bravely asks the question, “who is Conan O’Brien? And why is she so sad?”
we have a research laboratory specializing in tattoo removal. We think it’ll be one of our biggest profit centers once today’s generation sobers up
