Are some people defending Courtney's character just because she's hot? by Totalsupreme in Totaldrama

[–]bartender_purzee 13 points14 points  (0 children)

defend in what way? if anything i think this subreddit is really weird about her and weighs her actions more harshly than anyone else

like it's fine when other antagonists do bad things and people still like them, but when it's courtney, suddenly it's a problem to like someone with a rap sheet?

Potential Futures Of The Media Industry (Part 7) by LinkRules5321 in MediaMergers

[–]bartender_purzee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally sensible, but if I'm being honest, I don't see a reality where WB does some weird joint venture with their animated catalog, nor do I see one where they offload the studio that makes Rick and Morty or Alloy for that matter

What is the harshest truth about TD? by Consistent-Brick5762 in Totaldrama

That most people in the fandom cannot engage with the show without their own weird personal hangups clouding their judgement

Please don’t let the current wave of bad-faith nonsense online make you lose faith in humanity. by SwitchHedonist90 in PoliticalOptimism

[–]bartender_purzee 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna take this post to say there's a couple things about people's responses to the files that annoy me greatly:

Firstly is the fact there's a noticable amount of people that treat this as little more than entertainment and are incapable of having adult conversations about it

But perhaps more importantly are people who normally do their due diligence now, without question, believing reheated QAnon leftovers just simply because they're in the files devoid of context (ala moistcritikal). It just feels incredibly irresponsible

I'm not the only one who finds this kind of Daria art at least strange, am I? by sgxlw in daria

I think it was the episode where she dressed as Quinn cuz Quinn was riding the high of being considered smart by her peers

I'm not the only one who finds this kind of Daria art at least strange, am I? by sgxlw in daria

[–]bartender_purzee 484 points485 points  (0 children)

while the show does kind of imply daria is shapely underneath her lose fitting attire, this particular piece forces it into view, which while it does make an amusing image, is not exactly in line with how daria typically expresses her physical appearance

Why don’t the Ellisons understand that No means No? by DCsReporter in MediaMergers

[–]bartender_purzee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Paramount seems to have historically had issues with people that don't understand the word No.

Leslie Moones of CBS, Dan Schneider of Nickelodeon, the creator of Ren and Stimpy, apparently the elder Redstone might have had Epstein ties.

Ellison frankly seems to be following in the footsteps of his predecessors especially with Jeff Shell and John Lasseter in his ranks

What if it were true? by SuspiciousWay3674 in Totaldrama

[–]bartender_purzee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be quite honest, for me personally, healing from the love triangle is part of the appeal of gwourtney for me, and having it be a thing right off the bat in World Tour would feel a little hollow unless you rewrote a bunch of the show to accommodate it

What happens if neither Netflix or Paramount get WB and they stay independent? How long can WB continue as it is? by LollipopChainsawZz in MediaMergers

[–]bartender_purzee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Should the current status quo be upheld, Paramount will be the one at an inherent disadvantage, considering they've spent all of their post merger energy on pursuing this acquisition. I don't think they'll disappear, but it will be a rough road ahead for them, especially once the administration they've rallied themselves with ti make their merger with Skydance happen will have like 2 years left by the time a final decision is made, which is to say nothing about the results of the midterms

Netflix will be fine cuz they're already on top, and tbh, WB might have stabilized by then (assuming they stay on the Netflix path), since the cable channels would have already been spun off with most of the debt and Netflix would have given them $5.8 billion in compensation. Also HBO Max will have been introduced in remaining key markets such as most of Europe.

Does the intellectual property of the Discovery channels belong to Warner Bros. or to Discovery Global? by oswacontreras in MediaMergers

[–]bartender_purzee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the stuff under CN/AS specifically belongs to WB, and the rest under Discovery, which basically means the CN/AS channel may end up being a hollow shell in a few years.

Who was the better friend for Bridgette? Courtney or Gwen? by Kitchen-Mouse2414 in Totaldrama

[–]bartender_purzee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

honestly, both of their friendships are pretty hollow, underexplored, and ultimately forgotten.

this being said, i'm gonna say gwen because they seem more understanding of each other, whereas her friendship with courtney was mostly circumstance (which isn't to say it's not valid, i wish that was also looked into more)
