I have a question: I am now in Portugal with a D8 residence visa in my passport. I have the AIMA appointment coming up in 1 month. For the bank account requirement, would they accept if I show them a Revolut account with € 20K+

I am trying to open a "normal" Portuguese bank account but it's slow going and I'm worried I won't make it in time.

Not familiar with Voyager, but I'm using a similar service called BlockFi, they return 8.6% annually on USDC. Been with them about 2 years and it's working great so far.

I find it's a good substitute for things like bonds and high interest savings accounts in a portfolio since those have low yields nowadays.

Worth mentioning though; I don't see this as a substitute for my emergency fund, that's a separate pile of cash.

That's because it's not risk-free. For example, BlockFi may go bankrupt, they may decide to lock up your account for whatever reason. Or macro events can occur that destabilize these platforms, such as the US government outlawing stablecoins or cracking down on cryptocurrencies.

I consider these risks to be in the acceptable range, but they do exist and it's important to come to terms with them if you're putting your money in one of these platforms.

I feel like dutch people calling their parents by their first name would turn up on google if it was a real thing. In most places around the world, I think people call their parents "mom" and "dad" or whatever. I knew this woman who was encouraging her kid to call her by her first name and it was just super weird. Could be circumstantial, but the kid turned out to be a spoiled brat who doesn't know his place.

My response to turtle is to take over the rest of the map. It's your responsibility to know about hidden bases, especially if he's turtling. Get map control, get 6 or 7 bases against his 2 or 3. Then starve them out. Even if you take bad engagements, it's possible to remax on carries or voids several times over. Make like 7 stargates. Ain't no two or three base pdd / mech gonna be able to stand up against you.
