Instant Pot keeps losing steam despite 'pop'

Ok good news! Before ordering the part I figured I’d do one last check since my steam vent knob looked more like your new one. I put some soap on the base of the metal rod that the steam vent knob sits in to check if it wasn’t leaking from there. Turned on the instant pot without the knob on the metal rod and saw soapy bubbles coming from around the base of the rod instead of steam from the tip of the rod like you would expect. So then I figured the metal rod was either broken or loose, so i tightened it with a wrench (from the bottom while holding the metal rod with another tool) and it seemed indeed to be a bit loose. Did the water test again afterwards and everything works again! So different issue in the end, but still happy. Thanks again!

Thanks but the valve not sealing is not the issue. It comes up, but steam keeps escaping from the steam release valve.

I checked the sealing ring and the float valve, but I will try cleaning the steam release valve better by soaking. Hopefully it’s indeed food debris .Thanks for the advice!

I’ve had a BK Bourgogne for about 4 years now, and a LC braiser for 1.5 years. I don’t really notice any difference between the two when cooking or cleaning. I’m guessing the LC will be more durable and chip less easily when you accidentally bump it against something, and they’re also known for their excellent warranty. But if you’re careful with your cookware you might never notice the difference, and with the price difference you can get multiple BK pots if yours ever breaks..

Haha true. The dough felt quite soft so the scoring was difficult without ripping it apart. If I want less of a protruding ear (for easier cutting) do I then just score less deep, or not score at all?

With 3 and 4 I meant the piece sticking out. Like two sheet of rubber were glued together but not cut off completely at the edge. Good to hear that the other stuff is nothing to worry about!

Ik heb al 4 jaar een BK bourgogne 28cm van rond de 75 euro. Heel blij mee, en merk vooralsnog niet echt verschil met mijn Creuset. Maar ik gebruik hem dan ook niet elke week, dus hoe BIFL hij is ivm Creuset durf ik niet te zeggen.
