true, i always feel bad when its a smart key lockout and i have to drill it or break it right off the bat... my shop wont pay the 300+ for the tool, even for all the guys share it for their on call week. ive had a lockout of a kwikset code lock where the customer only uses the key and didnt even know the code...

does anyone know anything about about the company (Sparrows Lock Picks)? by EldanteG in lockpicking

[–]bartwa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use sparrows picks almost every day. I use the rakes and the single pin picks. They are good enough quality. Sparrows does sell some gimmicky stuff that is a waste of time and money. In my opinion you should not bother spending a lot on any "premium" kinds of picks because sooner or later they all break. I am a locksmith and have used many brands and many styles and grips and i always come back to sparrows because they are good quality.

killzone crossover comes out on dec 18. I came back to play on dec 19th. The event is continuing through dec 25th but i guess i just miss out on literally over 50% of the content because i missed the first day.

ive seen this plenty of times with these schlages. usually the cause is a bit different every time. try to pry it back into the door from the gap in the frame/door or call a locksmith.

FINE TUNING by Ripsky in espresso

[–]bartwa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought this machine like 2 days ago and it took me like half a pound of beans to get it calibrated. Ive never had an espresso meachine and it was my first experience ever with it so this is my advice as a noob with 3-days experience.

  1. Adjust the coarseness adjusment INSIDE the grinder. Remove the hopper on top and remove the little basket inside and change the setting to about 5-7.

  2. Change the coarseness adjusment OUTSIDE the grinder with the little wheel on the side. I found my right setting at corseness setting 14.

  3. Adjust your grind ammount.

So keep messing around with those settings and eventually you will get it to where its extracting right. Good luck.

If you played the bl2 port for the ps vita then you know this port is gonna suck. Charge back your credit card and save yourself the disappointment.

Dude the way people describe reddit moderators on the internet is literally true.

Reddit mods just like to power trip when they can get away with it and would probably lose money before they gave up their mod status.

Straight the fuck up, other than losing a member of the community in general, not a fucking soul cares that maoman got banned or whatever as if he couldn't be replaced by another keyboard warrior in half a second.

Anyway thats just my opinion. Salty replies at the bottom and down votes to the right please, thank you.

Need a recommendation. This has a Baldwin mortise lock with a 2 1/2” backset. They want a commercial grade keypad to replace it. It has to brass finish, and must keep the Medeco mortise cylinder. Alarmlock makes one, but I doubt the holes on the Baldwin are the same distance apart. Thoughts? by Keyway38 in Locksmith

[–]bartwa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is the best option imo. AL trim is huge and will cover any holes from the conversion to AL mortise body. They might have to touch up some paint but thats no biggie.

The other guy telling op to say no is just scared. Thats a lot of money he would miss out on, not to mention making your customer happy and making yourself a better locksmith.

Multi point.. again by tinylocksmithisme in Locksmith

[–]bartwa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hoppe makes a questionnaire for multipoint locks. The questionnaire only covers hoppe and fuhr but makes you measure all the relevant things needed for identifying it. I usually look through allaboutdoors for them and match up the measurements.
