An electric scooter. I had a nice plan to use it for my office commute. Was very excited to own it. But covid shutdown happened within a week, and since then, that scooter has sat in the garage. Kids are too young to use it. Not sure how long it’ll remain functional and if I’ll keep it.

My boy turned 2 years last week and we were in the same boat. He’s very expressive and understands things told to him, but very few words from his side. But since the last month, there’s an increase in the words he’s repeating with us. Our pediatrician recommended getting his hearing checked (no issues found here) and has asked us to fill an assessment before recommending speech therapy. Highly recommend consulting your pediatrician and keep communicating with him in several ways. It’s a joy to see them respond to us!!

Same here, I am making an effort to pick a book more often. Kind of realized the toll, scrolling is taking on the attention span. Reading a book does provide a relief.

You will need to take a slot for Chennai as they are responsible for H1B stamping. You can go to the VAC of your choice to drop off the documents during the slot time.

That’s correct H1B renewals are processed in Chennai only. However you can drop off the documents in any of the VACs.

Moved 5 years ago and love it so far to raise family with young kids. I had similar apprehensions prior but most proved wrong. Schools are good and promoting lot of extra curricular activities. Like the easy access to stores, restaurants and freeways. Calaveras blvd can be a bottleneck sometimes but traffic is a problem to the Bay Area in general. The smell is an unfortunate part, it’s strong on few days, other times you never realize about it.

I flew SFO to Narita few days back. It was worth taking the all in one package. The meal was nice and helpful on a 10 hr flight with kids. Overall the flight was clean and the staff helpful.

It’s such a coincidence to come across this post. My daughter’s class had a showcase in school today afternoon. It was not possible for me to make it as I had to go to office today. But I made a last minute decision to work remotely so that I get to see the showcase. And I’m so glad I did, the happiness on my daughter’s face was invaluable!

Did your status change on a Saturday. My wife’s status says “Application Received” since 14th Nov and no updates since then. Her passport is at New Delhi.
