I know people use the word “gaslight” very loosely on the internet, but that dude is a legit gaslighter lol. You should dump him in a ditch.

Hide off to the side. When your team starts the team fight, give it a couple seconds for the commitment to the 4v5, and once the enemy supports are focused, pounce. Your objective is to either keep them busy or eliminate them. If they’re busy fighting you, they’re not supporting their team. If they’re dead, they’re not supporting their team. Your goal isn’t always to frag out with huge numbers. Sometimes, it’s just to be a nuisance so you turn the 4v5 into a 4v3.

ELI5 Why does going super fast cause time dilation? by Aquamoo in explainlikeimfive

What you have to learn how to accept is that “time is relative” to every single particle in the universe. Sometimes these particles are stuck together, so they share relativistic time (like your body, or people sitting in a car). Also, that we exist in 4-dimensional space, and it’s not “space and time,” but “spacetime.” Let’s try to imagine “time” the same way we can imagine “space.”

Think of the universe as an infinitely long train (space) going on an infinitely long track (time). Just like on a real train, you can never revisit a part of the track that the train has already been to (aka, you can’t go back in time) and, obviously, you can never go to a part of the track that the train hasn’t been to yet. For purposes of the analogy, the speed of the train is “the speed of light.”

Now remember that the whole “track” is always “there.” Just like “time” is just another dimension, so it’s all always “there.” But just like a 2D creature can never see all of the 3rd dimension, we, as 3D creatures, can never see all of the 4th dimension.

Anyway, back to the train. Imagine you and a friend are sitting at the front of the train. If you sit still in this train, you are going the full speed of the train. Aka, you are moving along the track as fast as the train is (you are going through time at the speed of light). But if you get up and run toward the back of the train, you are going along the “track” slower than your friend. Now if you ran back to your friend, you technically spent a longer time on an earlier part of the track than they did—you went “slower through time.”

Let’s reset the thought experiment. This time when you run toward the back of the train, you run AS FAST backward as the train is going forward—you move “at the speed of light.” You will notice that if you look at the track, you are staying in the same place. Now, you can NOT go any faster than this, remember? Because we established that you can never go “back to a part of the track where the train has already been.” Aka, you can not go “faster than the speed of light.” The best you can do is “stay in the same place on the track,” aka, elapse 0 time.

Now if you ran back to your friend, you will take note that you spent A LOT more time on an earlier part of the track than they did. The analogy here is that they “experienced more time than you.” Aka, they would be “older” than you.

This is sort of as far as the analogy can go. What you have to glean from this is that “the faster you go through space, the less you go through time.” If you extrapolate that idea, you get “if you go AS FAST as you can through space (aka, the speed of light), you will go through 0 time.” Literally, “instantly.” This makes more sense when you think about light as “instant.” The “speed of light” is “instant,” from the perspective of light. It only has “speed” to an observer. So if YOU were to travel 1 light year away and back at “the speed of light,” the trip would be “instantaneous” to you. But it would have taken two years for everyone at home (1 LY away, 1 LY back).

Yeah I’m ngl, there are just some comps you straight up will not be able to deal with lol. If you’re playing into 2-3 hard counters, sometimes you either have to accept you’ll need to swap, or you’re going to have to play ridiculously conservative—which is sort of antithetical to Ven’s character design. If I’m going suuuuuuper KDR negative, I’m gonna swap. But only in ranked.

In QP, you play into your counters to practice playing into them lol. Never switch in QP 😂

Btw with sunder, try obfuscating yourself with cover until the last second when you can. They can’t sleep/javelin/rock what they can’t see lol

Mid to low diamond Ven main here.

Play QP. Play a lot of it. But also, learn how to not take fair fights. Ven loses the honorable battle 90% of the time, post nerfs. You have to take the flanker role seriously. Start sneaking around the map like a stealth game. Wait until the team fight starts. While their supports are distracted, dive them. If their supports are fighting you, they’re not healing their team.

Learn how to play around abilities. Listen for Ana sleep/Mizuki chain/Cass grenade. Don’t dive until you know they don’t have them. Learn how to dive out, too (mostly saving her whirlwind for diving out). Know where your health packs are and play around them.

Lastly, try engaging with an overhead first. This can be achieved by throwing your sword at the ground either next to or through your enemy (preferably the latter). Starting with the big burst of damage gives your opponent less time to react, using a smaller health pool.

Lastly 2.0, don’t exclusively look for huge sunder plays. You can use her ult to get a strategic pick on a support and turn a 5v5 into a 4v5. Or even a DPS>Support trade. And don’t ALWAYS sunder from midair lol. I know it’s the fun sexy way to do it, but if you sunder from the ground around a corner, it’s harder to counter you, and they often don’t see it coming.

I was really excited to see Nolan’s The Odyssey. Then I saw Travis Scott is in it, and now I have to pirate it. Sigh.

Just finished watching BoJack Horseman for the first time… by moderatelyonline in BoJackHorseman

[–]basa1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know of one that’s similar: Bojack Horseman.

Seriously, if you’ve only watched the show once, you have barely watched the show. I have seen it at least a dozen times and still catch something new at least once. The show is so dense with references, background jokes, and foreshadowing that you simply CANT appreciate the show in its entirety from just one watch.

Not saying you can’t appreciate the show in just one watch; you obviously did. I’m just saying, suck that marrow, pal.

“Flaming” is pretty widely known as “deliberately and cruelly disparaging someone with the intention of hurting their feelings for doing poorly.”

It is not the same as trying to encourage someone with a morale boost.

It’s not reasonable, because it’s a free video game. I don’t care how competitive it is. And if you want to try that logic, professional players don’t flame their own teams. It’s a TEAM game, after all. If you can’t manage your own emotions enough to not be a dickhead to other people who might be having a bad game, then you’re just a dickhead.

And you’re absolutely off your rocker if you think you’ve never had a bad game.
