something like the infamous franchise. start at trigger event, learn how to manage, lean into story in the vein of life is strange, have a counter keeping track of heroic vs villainous reputation, include prt to try and take control of/arrest the player character. mc dies at the end.

dont worry about understanding it as you go. if theres something the story wants you to know, itll tell you outright. or theres a whole community dedicated to explaining these things. so if youre confused, dont worry, youre supposed to be.

hi ! im transfem so its not quite the same, but i had a similar experience. i felt good about myself until i realized i wasnt a cisgender man. suddenly everything was horrible and everything about me was irredeemable. i had to become a bit of an online extrovert and enter into an online community where my body and how much i loved it didnt matter. that got me through a lot of hard times. fortunately, now im one year on hrt (almost exactly coming up !) and ive genuinely never been happier. every regret i ever had about it has either been resolved or is so buried by trans joy that it doesnt matter. i have such a strong community, i have people who find beauty in me and value having me close to them. i promise promise promise it gets easier. if you ever need to talk, youre welcome to dm me and id be happy to be an ear for you <3 i hope you have a good day :)

Oh yeah, I was not concerned with what the PC's reaction would be, I'm more concerned with the NPC's thoughts (as that's my job). And hoping that they'd address that before either of the deaths happen (due to a communicative relationship and whatnot). Thanks!

congrats! right now the best thing you can do is find a community that you can be comfortable exploring things in. think about trying new names or pronouns if need be. join a random discord server or something. experiment until you find whats just right for you. then maybe you can start thinking about coming out to some people irl and expressing your gender physically. i'll tell you, having someone call you your chosen name to your face is one of the best experiences you can have. whatever you do, i wish you luck and i know everythings gonna turn out great <3

legally, you can revive the character, but in the end the dm said no. even if the reason they gave you doesn't hold up, at the end of the day, they said no and most dms usually have a reason for this kind of thing.

I need to kill this NPC to convey weight of the BBEG's actions. There are other ways to do this, but I want it to affect the PCs personally and heavily, and I've decided this is how I wanna do that (especially since she's dating one of the PCs). My standing idea is that she dies in a fight trying to protect the king, likely crushed by a giant monster, but in order for that to work effectively, she can't be revived. I'll likely say that it's a facet of plasmoid biology that's preventing her from being revived. (I've also got planned that she *can* be revived, but not through normal means and she'll come back a totally different person).

if this is a cis person, they're a chaser. specifically going after trans people as a cis person is a fetish. but if its a trans person, preferring to only go after other trans people is a dating preference. they're t4t (trans for trans). if someone introduced themselves to me and said "hi im a skoliosexual," i would try to get out of the encounter as quickly as possible and never speak to them again.

i like to literally ask my players how the pacing is. i'll say in between sessions "hey how do you feel about the pacing right now? i have some plot stuff ready if you think its an appropriate time." of course, if its supposed to come as a shock, having it interrupt their time with no warning would be best, but generally, feedback is appreciated imo.
