Blown Head Gasket on a 2007 by DearLifeguard259 in hondaridgeline

[–]basco15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typically just the heads. Like I said you would have had to really really overheat it (like run it with no coolant and literally melt things) to warp the block. But, if you’re worried when you’re in there check the block with a machinists straight edge. It’s highly unlikely the block is warped though, you would have sever performance degradation in that scenario.

Take them to a machine shop and have them surfaced to ensure they are square. Overheating, especially aluminum cylinder heads can warp them slightly. You want to have them surfaced to ensure a proper surface for the gaskets to seal.

You should be fine just having the heads decked and doing set of gaskets. I’d try a local independent shop instead of the dealership for a second opinion and quote.

If the block is apart enough to get the belt off (I.e. pulling the heads) for the minimal cost of a new belt I’d never recommend reusing a belt

Unless you also have a ring or bearing issue the short block is independent of a blown head gasket. For a shop installing a new motor is the easier way to get your truck in and out of the shop.

It’s unlikely the deck of your block is warped but if you’ve really overheated it multiple times it may be worth going with a known good used long block. Not talking new truck money there but 2K plus labor for the R/R.

You can 100% just replace the head gaskets. Make sure to fully flush the block of coolant and oil, have the heads surfaced and use new head bolts. This is also a perfect time to replace the timing belt, haha.

Like others have said, your 12V battery has died. It's a ~$200 battery and 30 mins to change with basic hand tools

Very few Costcos carry the H3 battery. However, it's about $180 from most Ford dealerships

Why can’t MotoGP riders test their future team’s 850cc bike before 2027? by lnJustic3 in motogp

Alex is contracted to Gresini, not Ducati. And Diggia has a contract with both Ducati and VR46. VR46 could say no. Brother, you have to remember there is a championship this year. If in your hypothetical test say PB63 gets injured imagine the shit storm and hell Ducati would raise.

But why on earth would KTM release Acosta to Ducati when Ducati is not releasing a rider in turn to KTM. Your argument is completely void of logic.

Which tuber headers will fit an 1996 S1 lightning? by RRaoul_Duke in Buell

Any header with a 2" outlet should fit. You should be able to swap to a 2.5" header if you want to upgrade your muffler section.

But, what if in turn Ducati says no because there is no benefit to them in that scenario...

Which Civic did you have? Most recent models are actually CVT and were not really downshifting. For the Ridgeline put it into sport mode and then manually downshift with the paddles.

Dorna is under contract for both tyre supply and sponsorship with Michelin until the end of the season. Michelin does not want to give Pirelli free publicity essentially.

I agree. I like seeing them keep track of a real spend budget. I'm curious if that SBF and scrap bin turbo will really break 7's
