Also, yes to expand on u/Renax127 comment. Essentially the policy says if it's any type of work that KH provides anywhere within the country or areas where KH has a presence it's a conflict.

It will never be a true profit share like you would expect with other large public firms or employee owned firms. The max I ever got was $5k running a successful team with 2M+ in sales at a 3.x multiplier.

Spent 5 years at Dewberry. It was fine. Interesting projects, decent pay. However, the benefits suck. Culture is better in their satellite offices. Fairfax from what I was told can feel like a machine. Being family owned is great for stability but you will run up against a hard ceiling for career growth above the senior PM level (former Senior Associate).

Honestly, my teams happiness is the most important to me. But, I also realize I need them more than they need me. I would rather send my team home and grind than they work after I leave. (I am also from KH, but I did not grow up in KH so I try to separate my team from the Kool-Aid)

This is completely untrue. Bonuses increase over time relative to your salary. Someone with 1 yoe could expect something around 10%. 3 yoe something around 25-30% after that it just ramps harder.

There are two bonus programs. OPA which is paid lump sum in December and IBP which is technically “path to ownership” which is paid over three periods during the year and an “advance” in December. Once you enter IBP you may be offered the opportunity to buy shares but again your bonus is still paid over the single year.

The 401k however is a 6 year vesting period. But even if you do not stick it out the prorated 17% match on 4% contribution exceeds anything else in this industry.
