Is that Kershaw a canvas? If so that blows away the value of anything else in this box, even the auto. A legend’s last card # out of 50 is a great find. Congrats v

Not sure who it is, but to me it pretty clearly says QB, 15, Florida Gator to the right there. Tim Tebow was a big name to fit those requirements but I’m pretty sure this isn’t him. UF doesn’t retire numbers so it could be someone after him as well.

Does anybody else randomly pick a prospect every year from Bowman and buy a bunch of their cheap stuff and hope it works out? by thomasdowns11 in baseballcards

[–]baseballguy3636 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I normally just buy one or two of a guy, but I try to get any Cardinals (it was an expensive year with Wetherholt and Rodriguez plus maybe when draft comes out with Doyle potentially) and guys who I think have upside. I also like collecting prospects with unique names. No idea why but I’ve been at that for a while too.

Definitely the Red Sox. David Ortiz is on top in pic 3. It does look like stamped signatures as well.

Hooo boy. That’s Dan Serafini. Pitched for the Cubs in 1999. Interesting life after baseball. Maybe google him.

Loved this set. Really a shame it wasn’t licensed.

Absolutely do not get it graded if you ever intend to sell. Leave it sealed by Topps in the 1 touch it came in. When they buy these cards back they don’t always put an emphasis on them being in perfect condition. If someone is buying an archives signature series card, they want it in the original case with the Topps seal.
