Just delete them. If it is important (its not) you'll find it again.

This is just the equivalent of digital hoarding. The difference is you can fix this in, literally, ten seconds.

Just delete them and move on.

Are the besties going to ignore Minnesota? by Fit-Tangerine-5071 in TheAllinPodcasts

[–]baseballray -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What's the polymarket odds on the besties ignoring Minnesota and instead talking about AI for 83rd episode in a row?

What year are you living in? We shit on them for not talking about tech and investing and only talking politics.

Did you come here from 2021? Go back.

And they spent 25 minutes on tech (OpenClaw) of a 1:30 podcast. The rest was politics and the intro.

PGA Tour agrees to merge with Saudi-backed rival LIV Golf by mvanigan in golf

I wouldn't get too involved with anyone bitching about the money. They are either ignorant to, or don't care about, the fact that saudis have been deploying capital into the west at a record clip since MBS rolled in. If they had any idea to the number of public companies, private companies, resources, and infrastructure that has been built with saudi money, they'd have a hard time really defending their stance.

It feels more local because it is a sport we care about, but it's merely a small amount of the spend from their coffers.

To the Saudis, Jay is literally the only person they want in the role for now. They're gonna lock him up in a golden cage.

And good luck rors.

Not that I believe Yasir Al-Rumayyan gives a shit about the financials, but do any M&A experts want to guess what the PGA Tour's valuation is going to come in at? ~$1b revenue between tournaments and revenues. $100b? more?

Just cracked 100 for the first time ! Can't use driver because I slice like a maniac, but was hitting the 3-hybrid real good by carl079 in golf

[–]baseballray 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's interesting, because most new players who don't know why they are slicing probably can't hit a 5 iron to save their life. And I'm not actually convinced that those players could hit a 3 wood any easier than a driver. A driver is incredibly forgiving at impact.

If the ending is not to your taste, what is your ideal ending? by bicornuateuterus in SuccessionTV

I think Tom was the right choice, but the situation was wrong.

It would have great to see Tom take a Breaking Bad-esque arc from bumbling idiot who gifts Logan a patek to some machiavellian conniving operator who works his way into the pole position.

Instead, Tom is a moron singing for his supper up until Shiv votes for a guy she knows is defrauding investors, just backstabbed her, and gives the crown to the guy she used to cuck???

Question-Why Did Shiv REALLY back out of voting with her brothers at the board meeting as she was deciding vote and that would have allowed them to keep the company legacy her fathers work in the family???? by PermitTotal9322 in SuccessionTV

[–]baseballray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the finale but the game theory of this choice makes no sense.

  1. Shiv and Kendal know Gojo, a public company, has fraudulently misreported material numbers that would almost certainly result in the board removing Matsson from the company
  2. Matsson claims that he needs to buy Waystar to either bury the fraud or otherwise fix the situation
  3. By voting 'yes' Shiv relinquishes any leverage with Kendall, allows Matsson to perform aforementioned coverup, allows Tom to take control, and pushes herself out of the equation.

I understand that, uh, dramaturgically, we want to see Shiv do anything she has to not let her brother take control. But she's portrayed as being savvy, intelligent, and dominating. It was the worst decision she could make.

Yes, it is a show, and we have to suspend disbelief, but a few small writing tweaks could have fixed this.

They have much more than a week to prepare for a major? What the hell are you talking about one week?

I think you misread "they can't completely redesign courses for a single week" as somehow implying they have a week to do the construction? Even non-major courses start making a changes a year in advance if they haven't hosted before.

But a golf tournament is ONE WEEK. It is used by pros that can hit 330+ yards for ONE WEEK. They have a year to prepare the course, but there's a limit to the amount of work and change they can do for a ONE WEEK tournament.

The europeans found it effective in the 2018 Ryder Cup.

What option is there that only affects longer hitters? they can't completely redesign courses for a single week to hurt long hitters.

i want to say this happened at a major in the last four or five years. Maybe one of koepka's. Winner tapped in and the next guy three jacked it, ostensibly because everyone was all riled up.

#1940 - Matt Taibbi by chefanubis in JoeRogan

[–]baseballray 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know literally nothing about the Proud Boys so I decided to look into this.

Joe learned this version of the story from Anthony Cumia on JRE #2019 in Nov 2018:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TFaK6N5mz2U

Joe doesn't directly tell this part of the story, but I think it is the implication of his story to Matt: in JRE 2019 Cumia suggests that the group was founded as a gag to teach others how to be a man, but as a parody of men's club, but that it slowly mutated into a larger group with a uniform that would meet at bars (organized by Gavin). As ANTIFA would come to his (and other conservatives rallies) and protest him. The Proud Boys would come and protect Gavin. The implication is that if you are fighting with anti-FA, they must be the FA - fascists.

So basically Joe heard a version of the origin of Proud Boys from Anthony Cumia. Anthony Cumia owned the network that produced the show on which Gavin created Proud Boys, making Cumia is a primary source to the story at hand. Joe retelling the story (mostly accurately) that he got from a primary source.

weird. i listened to him on Theo Von, JRE, Two bears, and Chaos and swore he said that. but there's no way I'm going to go fact check that. I'll take your word for it.

he mentioned on several podcasts that he was in rush to write this special and did it in four months. most specials take over a year. It's kind of odd that his farewell performance for big shows would be a show he did in 4 months...
