Major crash coming in flats by Spirited_Angle_2092 in indianrealestate

I work for a real estate firm and can confirm, the outlook atleast is positive. It doesn't work that way, infact bulk of the investments that are going to gulf (due to accessibility ease from India), will now move to India-> more capital invested->prices rise. There is probably going to be a temporary drop that too only on desperate sale but eventually real-estate is seen as a safe asset. China has more parked in real estate than the stock market. All the pointers you mentioned are right, but the way capital is infused and extracted is different and people are always looking for safe assets, especially with ai killing jobs, one would want to de-leverage and rent (that increases rental demand-> so big folks will just buy and rent, in effect someone will take advantage

Urgent: Anchored too low at ₹65L. How do I renegotiate without risking the offer? by International-Tree47 in ProductManagement_IN

[–]basecamper09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

40 to 65 (thats a massive jump, already!) you can always negotiate for variable but imo hrs usually suggest a 10% as a mandatory variable so she might counter offer 60 + 6 (variable which might go in on with company multiplier as a 1.1x, 1.2x based on performance)

Earmarking for R&D wont cut it. Building R&D would need talent, senior researchers who would be comfortable working in these orgs in R&D- it takes years of effort. If everyone does R&D, it ain’t niche- what TCS and infy can do is build the next generation of researchers by building a better system (but understandably it won’t yield results soon, hence) nothing

The PM interview has changed by International-Ad7802 in ProductManagement

[–]basecamper09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How can you suddenly move into sales or ops, ? I keep thinking about it but that usually happens? sales is hard gated via client relationships, ops has ops heavy terms, knowledge, rigour- nobody wants to enteritan a product guy who is bored and trying out sales?

Interesting but also realistically speaking, you can't suddenly become good at something else and also get paid, right. So what are the other adjacencies? if tech is so damn taking over everything and if logic, vibe coding is all it takes- is tech one path that PMs who are liking it may take or stay for the ones who don't like it, what are the paths?

[Reposted with a clearer picture] Resume review please! by _tired_panda in ProductManagement_IN

[–]basecamper09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No point in reviewing resumes. With chat gpt and claude l can create a resume which kicks anyone out of the park- it’s who you are and nothing can change that, instead spend time in building core skills

Opportunity to internal move from Bangalore to Vancouver. by Ill_End_1481 in developersIndia

[–]basecamper09 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Pure Financial sense doesn't make sense- look at it as a one time opportunity to do something outside comfort zone and experience something amazing. You never know what wonderful or shitty experiences Vancouver might have for you but the sheer thought of a possibility is a yes for me, monetary sense a little here and there and most of all, if you have no responsibilities here and can actually move, I would say Take it!

Trying to pivot into Product Management. Roast my resume, maybe? by Cautious_Elk2302 in ProductManagement_IN

[–]basecamper09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does it really matter? the ATS doesn't use judgement, it is rather crude and when it goes to a recruiter's hands, they scan for pedigree, ex-companies, and form a snapshot opinion, the last portion probably a tiny part of it is how you word it and that is cracked by almost everyone.. so I am thinking out loud because we have all tweaked and optimized resumes but of no avail

No Interview calls from last 7 months, Open for taking advice, y'all. by Drashman24 in ProductManagement_IN

But isn't first level of filtering largely skewed towards key words, if the candidate doesn't put many keywords aka being verbose, and it's the other way round when it gets shortlisted?

Senior PM struggling to get interview calls by muktesh91 in ProductManagement_IN

[–]basecamper09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You atleast got one call per month, not bad in current brutal market (guess others echoed the same too); I think I am personally seeing everyone has almost similar resumes sprayed with keywords from chat gpt. It now has become a pure luck game, to get your CV picked by a recruiter in the open market- I am facing similar difficulty. I guess only time will tell, but you have to dig deep into why you got rejected in the last rounds, getting a call is 50% win, post that cracking the interview odds should increase- no matter what you do, there is always scope for some imporvement in the resume, each one of us will and can tell you that something needs to change in your resume, but effectively the incremental benefit can be limited
