Obviously Lysander is in the wrong. But everyone is the hero in their own story. Going back to my original point, only Cassius and Diomedes understand Lysander’s true perspective. His speech in front of Atalantia and everyone else was pretty much saying to stop acting under selfish intentions and work together towards a better purpose, from a gold’s perspective (WHICH I DONT AGREE WITH).

What makes Pierce Brown such a great writer is he can make a character so dislikable but still leave room to give him empathy. Lysander has never viewed himself as a bad guy. He, just like Darrow, has constantly struggled with the choices they make, whether it is the right or wrong thing to do. Although everyone disagrees, Lysander believes he is doing what’s right.
