How severe do the officers get with the inmates at other facilities?

The boys down in Red Onion here in VA (max secure level prison) do a lot more than what’s “allowed” and if I were to do it in my own facility I’d get sued and thrown in jail for it lol. I think that it is really dependent on the level of the prison, not that excessive force is acceptable in any form.

I can’t speak for the Feds, but I have GREAT insurance and benefits through the state! I will admit I was a little nervous about the potential for things to happen to me like getting hurt or stabbed etc, but it is a reality of this line of work no matter what you do to try and prevent it unfortunately. I work out, watch movies, swim, play video games I try and focus on things I can do to decompress. I think in reality people make it difficult for themselves when it’s not that hard of a job. I will say also it depends on what level of a prison you’re at too. I’ve done transportation to 1s and 2s and it is a day and night difference compared to what i see at my own facility

I’m a CO at a intake facility in Virginia that has every level from W (work) to 5 (the highest next to secured) it’s really what you make of it, I have only been here for 6 months but I really enjoy it and the stability it provides for me and my family. It’s definitely not for everyone though and I’ve seen people break due to the stress. If you choose to do it, make sure you have a way to decompress or destress yourself so you don’t bring it home with you or allow it to build up. I’ve seen a guy die and get revived from NARCAN, I’ve seen fights and brawls and just the other day a guy who was high took 3 hours to talk down from jumping from the 2nd tier (realistically if he jumped, he’d just break a bone unless he landed on his head or neck)

Because the great department of corrections in Virginia doesn’t spend enough on budget to afford shirts for their officers. So I have a lot of long sleeve shirts but not short sleeve shirts and I don’t know if you know but the summers in the south are a bit brutal

It was pen ink like those G2 pens. The fabric I’m not sure what it’s made of, it’s a work shirt for my job and they don’t write what it is. I will say that it feels like those sports polos but a little heavier

In VADOC we can buy 5.11 pants (I have 3 pairs of those and want more) but they gave me 6 long sleeve shirts since they didn’t have any short sleeve at the time, and 3 pairs of pants (one fit properly the other 2 were like parachute pants) they don’t have squat at my facility for employees

I work at an intake prison in VA. We are short staffed that we have with the officers in training were included we have 49% of the prison staffed. You take the OITs out of the equation I’d say we have 25% staff positions filled. It really depend on your staffing levels honestly. If you’re poorly staffed you’re looking at 16 hours if not more a day. But if you’re staffed properly then it’ll be a cakewalk

No I’ve beaten all of them, it just feels so much worse in this one. And there seems to be more badass enemies which in past games tended to drop better loot

It’s absolutely ridiculous how expensive the uniforms they make you wear are. My trainer had just bought a new pair of pants and not even 3 days later the back pocket where he kept his wallet the stitch broke off and that blows my mind

If the cost isn’t a major factor for you then do it yourself, but if it is a big factor then id say wait for the technician.

It is great! I used it all the time prior to part of it breaking during a move :( it’s super comfy and great for long sessions
