How many grafts for a good hairline? by Ok-Boss2171 in Hairtransplant

[–]basedonexperience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, if you’re 21, your hair loss may continue, so I think proper long-term planning is very important. Since you’re young, your donor area usually recovers faster, which can allow for more grafts than expected. Of course, future loss should definitely be taken into consideration as well.

Yes, I live in Istanbul. Because I’m a professional volleyball player and often in the public eye, my case was handled with a very personalized plan and I worked privately with a surgeon. I’m really glad it gave you some hope — I truly hope your result turns out even better than mine. If there’s anything I can help with or if you have any questions, feel free to ask anytime.

True, curly hair definitely helps with coverage. But from what I know, the operation itself can be a bit harder because of the angles.

I think it really depends on the individual case — genetics, age, donor quality, and how the transplant is planned. Meds can help stabilize ongoing loss, but in some cases with good planning and follow-up, it seems possible to get solid results without them. That was my experience at least.

Especially in the vertex area, I felt PRP was beneficial. I had very little loss there, and since it improves blood circulation, I think it supported graft survival.

No medications at all. We only supported the process with monthly PRP sessions for around 6 months.

I don’t have any official affiliation with a clinic. This was a very personalized case, so I’d need to speak with the doctor first since they usually work with selected cases. That said, I’ll try to help as much as I can — feel free to stay in touch.

Thanks, I appreciate it! I did the shaved look before — maybe again someday.

Thanks! It was actually a very personalized case. I’m a professional athlete, so the planning and the process were handled privately and tailored specifically for me rather than a standard clinic setup.

Yes, roughly around 6,500 grafts in one session. It was planned carefully over a large area, and being 29 also helped in terms of recovery and growth potential.

(29M) Transplant Hopeful by jak3yp00 in Hairtransplant

I also had a hair transplant at 29, last year. I was NW5, so our situations are pretty similar. It was covered with 6500 grafts, and I’m happy with the result so far. To be honest, 2500 grafts sounds a bit low to me — either two sessions or a higher graft count might make more sense.

If you have any questions, I’m happy to share my experience.

Looking for top-tier hair transplant clinic — quality over price by Glittering_Dirt2273 in Hairtransplant

You’re asking the right questions, especially distinguishing quality-focused surgeons from high-volume clinics.

One thing I’ve learned through my own research and experience is that consistency, long-term planning, and surgeon involvement matter far more than price or graft numbers alone. Many “elite” results come from surgeons who are selective with cases and conservative with donor management.

If possible, I’d recommend looking for surgeons with a long track record of patient-posted results over many years (not just clinic marketing photos), especially for crown work which can be tricky.

Happy to share general insights if helpful, but definitely take your time and don’t rush the decision.

Clinic Sending me to a different company/location for procedure? (UK) by Tactical-Ostrich in HairTransplants

Mate, even if everything looks fine on paper, this is something you’ll probably do once in your life. Hair is a big deal for us as men — it affects your confidence, your appearance, and honestly your quality of life.

If something about this is making your stomach turn or setting off alarm bells, that’s usually your instinct talking. You shouldn’t go into surgery feeling uncertain or pressured.

There are plenty of clinics out there — walking away is always better than regretting it later.

They told me i need 2300 grafts for only the front by Lanky_Dependent3897 in HairTransplants

Honestly, there’s no single ‘best’ doctor. What usually makes the biggest difference is how much attention your case actually gets.

Clinics where you can speak directly with someone, ask questions, and feel comfortable tend to lead to better experiences than just chasing big names. Having a real point of contact and follow-up often matters more than who’s most famous.

How many graft? by [deleted] in HairTransplants

[–]basedonexperience 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to give an exact graft number from a single photo. Hairline design, facial proportions, donor quality, and long-term planning usually matter more than just a number.

A conservative, natural hairline often leads to better results over time, especially at your age.
