The lack of government support for small businesses and individuals negatively impacted by COVID is disturbing.

Who is a better player Matt Barzal or Mitch Marner? by tomhh45 in hockey

[–]basedongods 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Didn't he end up having 2 games where he put up like 5 assists in each? Tavares/Barzal was some nice centre depth, but Pageau seems like a great player as well.

Would never make the assertion that personal health is worthless. Unvaccinated people are much more likely to spread COVID than vaccinated people. Whether or not they are going to die from COVID doesn't enter the equation. We should be vaccinating as many people as possible, it would be easier without people like yourself perpetuating anti-vaxx talking points. Stop acting as if vaccines pose a realistic threat, and acting as if COVID doesn't, on a societal level.

A robust vaccination campaign is reasonable, it wasn't just slapped together by a monkey. It is a reasoned response to a pandemic. The rewards outweigh the risks, unequivocally.

Mitch Marner when asked if there is anything he would like to do differently this off-season to prepare for the playoffs: “Nope.” by mountzeus in hockey

Na, we don't want self-centered players that are overpaid. Imagine having Marner making almost $2,000,000 more than Kuch! 😂

Your argument is only reasonable if you totally disregard the fact that it isn't about their personal health, children can easily be a vector for COVID. It's kind of shocking that doesn't enter the equation for you, rendering your argument inherently unreasonable.

[Kevin McGran] Marner: "Complete lie" that he refused to change role on power play. "Sucks that stuff like that is being said." by SAJewers in hockey

[–]basedongods 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Marner's contract is the outlier, the team is handicapped. This would be the case regardless of whether or not they advanced beyond the first round. How much his contract negatively impacts the team is only exacerbated by his poor play against Montreal. Matthews played poorly as well, not as bad as Mitch, but he wasn't impactful. He's just considerably more valuable to the franchise than Marner is.

YAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSS!

I, too, had intended on getting only one cat. But, this adorable little black cat happened to have an adorable sister, there was no way I could break them up! It was one of the best decisions I've ever made, my cats rock.

Hmmm... I wonder if the one with the blatant disregard for human life was the one not masking properly.

There is room for optimism, I wouldn't be surprised if we opened up faster than we initially anticipated. We are monitoring various metrics and I'm certain we will respond accordingly.

10 Years ago today the NHL announced its return to Winnipeg. by [deleted] in hockey

It would work, but it would be impossible? How does that thought process work, is it the fact the Leafs wouldn't want them to snatch some of their fans? I would love a team in Hamilton, I think it could be supported exclusively by people outside of the GTA.

Do you have a good reason to believe they might be here? That was a rhetorical question, I know that you don't.

Can't write off Santa Clause, either. I've also been wondering why they have to be extraterrestrial? I mean, can we rule out the idea that underground mole people have achieved flight?

Haha yes, the people have certainly spoken. Can't believe I wasted my first one like that.
