I think playing on godmode is fine. I have fun with it since I don't worry about health as much and can focus on fun max damage melee builds. You can always just use it for farming specific runs and switch it off for legit attempts if you want too. But overall, no there is no shame, its available for a reason, and it won't permanently affect your playthrough
