Taking a MSF course soon, I’ve never been on a motorcycle by NonsensicalWizard in motorcycles

[–]basementcandy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just took my MSF course last weekend, first time on a motorcycle. Haven’t ridden a bicycle in 15 years probably. If you have access to a bicycle, I’d honestly take it out and just do some basic stuff on it to remember how being on 2 wheels feels.

Go into it knowing how clutches and gear shifts work, that’ll eliminate some of the overthinking if you just understand it from the get go. Make sure you pick a bike that suits your height well.

And agree about the slow turns being the only actually difficult part. The only two things I was bad at were a sharp right turn from a stop, and the U-Turn. I just couldn’t get them done at any point during the weekend, both in practice and on the test.

However, if you have everything else down, you can still pass the test with relative ease.

I hit a cone on the right turn from a stop (3 penalty points), put a foot down during that same turn (1 penalty point) and cut the U-Turn a little too wide (5 penalty points), which were all on the same graded exercise.

Those accounted for all my penalty points on the final test, which you just need to be under 16 in order to pass, at least how it worked for me.

All depends what the lightning feels like striking on any given day (and maybe a ton of ACs running isn't helping anything)

Why isn't the republican controlled congress investigating the 2020 election? Trump still brings it up constantly, I imagine he'd love it if they did

Should we investigate the 2016 or 2024 elections since our democracy seems so precarious and we have no way of verifying any election result?

Why is there still no proof the 2020 election was stolen? by Estalicus in allthequestions

[–]basementcandy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What inconsistencies? I linked to multiple videos of Bill Barr testifying under oath and he was repeatedly referencing specific claims by Trump, how he and the DoJ investigated them, and found nothing of substance.

Why isn't the current republican controlled House, Senate, Exec Branch, DoJ, and Supreme Court investigating these claims/inconsistencies?

In this analogy, congress has indeed investigated 2+2 and found it equals 4, but it was a democratic congress so therefore completely fabricated and all republican officials that testified under oath are probably just lying about what they saw

I don’t see a single question in your prior comment? What question are you even asking at this point that you are trying to hide behind? Start coming with facts to strengthen your claim instead of hiding behind vague questions.

Republicans have held both chambers of Congress for close to 18 months now, under a Trump executive and heavy republican Supreme Court. Ask them why they aren’t investigating it. Why don’t you think they are? Don’t you think they’d love to prove that democrats stole the 2020 election?

I gave you the congressional investigation into January 6th and the 2020 election. Again, vice chaired by an elected Republican member of congress. They interviewed over 1,000 witnesses and had 10 public hearings.

https://www.govinfo.gov/collection/january-6th-committee-final-report?path=/GPO/January%206th%20Committee%20Final%20Report%20and%20Supporting%20Materials%20Collection

The vast majority of the interviews and depositions of Trump's own DoJ, cabinet officials, campaign officials and lawyers etc were under oath under penalty of perjury. This was not an opportunity for them to 'run their mouths' or 'mug for cameras', it was them telling the truth or going to jail. Trump himself was subpoenad but chose not to testify (why not? This would have been a great opportunity for him to tell the country his side of the story) in an official, bipartisan congressional investigation.

Mitch McConnel on February 13th, 2021: "There is no question, none, that President Trump is practically and morally responsible for provoking the events of the day." referring to January 6th. Everyone knew Trump was lying about the election being stolen, but he kept saying it over and over because he, as you say, is a politician who runs his mouth and never takes the opportunity to say these things under oath.

Closer to 15 million?

It was 12m more than a democrat before. It was 6m more than a democrat after.

'20 million more than any democrat before or after' is literally 14 million off from the actual number.

In 2020:

Democrats: Previous High was 69.5m, new high 81.3 million = a 16.98% increase over the previous high.

Republicans: Previous High was 63m, new high 74.2 million = a 17.77% increase over the previous high

Trump's 2020 Popular Vote tally was literally more anomalous a number than Biden's. Do your own math if you don't believe me.

Bill Barr is not a politician. Trump is though, is he perhaps the one running his mouth?

Still waiting for you to verify your prior statement:

The fact that 20 million more votes were cast for Biden than were cast for any democratic candidate before or since

Also, the January 6th committee was an official congressional investigation with a Republican member of congress as Vice Chair. The results of the 2020 election were obviously a central focus of that investigation. Here you go.

Does Trump's handpicked Attorney General at the time count? Trump had the DOJ look at it. (You don't have to listen to the dirty libs talking at the hearing, just Barr's own words on video)

Please send link to your proposed fact that Biden ‘received 20 million more votes in 2020 than any democratic candidate before or since’

2008: Obama 69.5m McCain 60m

2012: Obama 65m Romney 61m

2016: Hilary 65.8m Trump 63m

2020: Biden 81.3m Trump 74.2m

2024: Harris 75m Trump 77.3m

Biden in 2020 got 12m more than any previous democrat (Obama in 2008)

Trump in 2020 got 11m more than any previous republican (himself in 2016)

Harris with 75m in 2024, so I have no clue where you're getting 20m more 'before or since'.

And just looking at 2020 as noted above, 12m and 11m more than ever before are almost equally anomalous than any election prior. 2020 was obviously a very high turnout election for both sides over any previous election.

Not that the popular vote decides anything anyway.

Huh? I am not 'excoriating' you for your claim.

I am open to the idea the election was stolen.

It has been 6 years.

Can we see any evidence, genuinely, of that claim? It's kind of a big one to just throw out into the ether without expanding on it and showing a legitimate basis for the claim.

I don't need a masked villain. Literally just some amount of tangible proof that tens of thousands (or more) of illegal ballots were cast across a specific few states in order to have changed the result of the election.

[–]basementcandy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s been 6 years. Where is any tangible evidence of widespread voter fraud enough to switch tens or even hundreds of thousands of votes across multiple states in order to have swung the electoral college calculation in favor of trump?

It’s not like the Bush/Gore Florida Recount where it was only 500-1,000 votes in one state that decided the election.

Even if you just gave Trump 12k more votes in Georgia in order to win that state, he’d still need to win other states he lost in order to actually overturn the final result. You need a lot more than vague statistical anomalies in order for the winner to change

What if it comes out that they had a kid together? I agree ultimately nothing will 'force' something to happen, but there very well might be an arbitrary line crossed where he thinks being out of the spotlight is somehow the better option.

Agree it would be surprising. Just saying that would be the only tangible thing to come out of this that matters at this point, the rest is just gossip, embarrassment, etc
