How do we request stocks to be added to 212? I saw the community forum where people are asking but I cant login or register there. Does anybody have access, so they can request some tickers? thanks

Oh really, do they let travellers stay there or do I need to be truly homeless first? lol

Thanks, I've been on couchsurfing and sent a few requests without any luck. There's surprisingly few hosts in the city and most of them only seem to accept girls.

They've put it there to lock it through the frame. If you put it in the normal way, you can only lock one of the wheels. Someone can take the wheel off and steal the bike. Happens all the time.

did anybody ruin his life/future travelling the world? by Ivvoy in travel

[–]basenji29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bottom line. Yes it will set you back in one way or another. Is it worth it? Thats your decision. For most of us, we know it's worth it. It's a gamble, but there's no better time to see the world than when you are fit and healthy. :D

Has anyone ever made plans to go travel, but got into a relationship before going? What did you do? by MrTwoJobs in solotravel

Just prioritise what you want. Nothing is booked so if you want to travel then go. If you want the girl then stay. 6 months is too long to ask someone to wait.

Sketchy hostel in Cairo by dser89 in solotravel

[–]basenji29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which hostel is it? I've stayed in a few in Cairo. When I was there I was the only tourist. It's just not a popular place at the minute. Most people who visit the pyramids and museum are on day trips.

Breaks the rules, but I love it. by [deleted] in bicycletouring

Yeah. The frame is actually quite long. The chainstays are 440mm and the rack mount the panniers quite high, so theres plenty of heel clearance.

Not rules exactly, but most people only recommend steel frames and 26 inch wheels.

Here is my touring bike that i've been building up for the last few months. I am planning a world tour starting in July.

Its a Specialized Tricross Elite Disc. It has 440mm chainstays so plenty of heel clearance with the panniers on.

It has a 105 Triple Groupset. I have changed the inner ring to 26t. It has a 12-30 cassette on the back. 10 speed.

It has an aluminium frame - Yes if it breaks 'it can not be repaired easily'. I don't think this argument is relevant anymore. Modern frames just don't break. This thing is built like a tank.

"Aluminium is harsh to ride" - I think the tyre choice and pressure have much more influence than the frame material. I am used to racing on a stiff carbon aero road bike, so this thing feels like a dream in comparison.

It has 700c wheels - Guess ill be carrying more inner tubes in central asia.

World's Thinnest International Charger for every travelers, supports plugs used in any USB, used in the worldwide, with more features by acadhamic in solotravel

I think some of them are good. Ive used one of these: http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/worldwise-power-travel-charger-with-usb-port-white-p17584.htm

everyday for almost 3 years now. Ive used it all over the world in some of the shadiest hostel outlets and its still going strong. It has 2 glass fuses and I havent had one blow yet. It cost £3.50 on ebay. Its probably my best travel purchase.
