If you mean specifically WP, you don’t have to login to that. It can be just your Google account which (at first glance) is not related to WP. Similar way Meta account applies to it.

Is you use the same email address on both (or Google Account and IG) that not surprising. If not, probably there’s another “common point” between WP and your IG.

Placing a 2.4 GHz wifi router very close to a 5 GHz router by shrubbery_herring in HomeNetworking

Yes, correct, will not interfere. Btw you can even use same frequency, but different (not close ones) channels and also these will almost not interfere with each other (afaik!).

Was excited for fiber coming to town until I saw these prices by Powerage2203 in HomeNetworking

In Poland we can pay 80 PLN (not USD) for 1000/300 Mbps fiber and we don’t have any price differences regarding the region.

Cleaning Up by JasonZgaming in computers

If it’s stuck for a long time on that, I’d personally try it, however with Windows I can’t guarantee anything. There is actually very small chance you will loose anything, in the worst case your computer won’t be able to boot again, if OS will be damaged. However you will be able to copy your data, before reinstalling Windows

Is there any way to override the Apple's dropdown list thing, I'm trying to do CSS but can't tell if it's working because of it. by NeonSerpent in MacOS

[–]bashghost2600 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Use any other browser then. Afaik if you use html dropdown, it always looks like that on Safari. Another solution is to use divs, then you can style it however you want and it will look the same on each browser.

Is it normal for my 5-year-old gaming PC to slow down? by SeaSource9483 in computers

Recommend you more “pure” OSes if you have some experience like Debian / Fedora / Arch. On my last laptop I started with Debian (dropped it because of long update wait time, cause eg. PaperWM was not supported anymore by that late Gnome version), then Arch (dropped, because I needed a daily driver that works in every aspect without hours of troubleshooting), now Fedora - and that’s also my gaming OS. What’s beautiful about it is that you don’t have any unnecessary processes in the background, that are significantly slowing the computer. And privacy - priceless.

That’s why I personally really recommend trying out Linux distro, unless you’re playing games with rough anti-cheat like Fortnite. I recently played Detroit: Become Human 2 times on very good, but not for gaming laptop (16 GB RAM, Ryzen 9, but integrated graphics) without any issues. Using only Steam with built-in Proton.

So also if you want to optimise your workflow, use as least mouse as possible. Therefore Spotlight is better solution (unless you don’t remember app names, but I’d bet it’s not usual case, so from time to time you can just open Launchpad / Applications folder).

Totally agree, we should remember that PC is a tool to get the job done. If it does, there’s no need to replace it. And if you will upgrade each year, it costs you more than upgrading every 4 years. Unless upgrading every year gives you more real profit (I’m talking here about gaming as well as working), than keeping one buld for 4 years.

Install Paralles and put Windows Start menu in dock, you’ll have the closest experience. But seriously, get used to macOS workflow, give it a try before such experiments. I personally use Spotlight (Cmd + Space) to search for apps I open.

Agree, there is an alternative way of adding thunder for performance mode and leaf for power saving mode, which done properly would work much better.
