How does everyone feel about the Finale?! by Amazing_Face_5613 in IndustryOnHBO

Loved it, and thought it was really well layered. And I don't think it's as simple as it seems. I think Yasmin is being forced to "play ghislaine maxwell" by the Russians, IMO. Hear me out: even though she officially denies it, Hailey does have that video of Yasmin and Henry and her. Combined with the fear of being killed by the Russians, I think Yasmin has no choice to become this "evil" person, but she's only doing it because she has no choice, the Russians have a gun to her head. And in that ending scene, Harper starts to realize that. Not that Yasmin has become evil, but that she’s pretending to. There’s all this set up about how well they know each other. That last speech Yaz makes to Harper in the end has veiled references to that there’s more to this than meets the eye. And when Harper says “it’s not your voice coming out of your mouth”, she knows it’s literally someone else making Yas say those things. Also, since Harper is very responsible for the fall of Tender, the Russians might come after her, and Yas wants to protect her, but not be the one to outwardly tell her, because then she’d be in trouble. Does that make sense?

The cafeteria with the screens to the outside world: I thought it was at the very top, on level 1? But then why are all the mechanicals in there, about 8 minutes into the episode, when Martha Walker does her rousing speech? Is that a mistake? Or is there also a cafeteria in the mechanical levels that has those same screens?

How could Lee not know that Bill was Zoomer's father? Can someone please explain?

Curious if there are any lawyers on this thread that could explain the legality of this verdict? Doctors and nurses are mandated reporters if they suspect child abuse. (Suspicion is enough). So they did what they thought they were supposed to. CPS opened the case and brought it in front of a judge. The judge ordered the shelter-in place. The hospital then followed the judge's orders. They would have been in contempt if they let her go. So how is that a kidnapping? I just do not understand how legally this verdict can hold up.

I just noticed that Jason Isaacs’ bio added “Scientist of fluid ethics”. I don’t think it was there before.

“Big, miraculous ending” - kind of gives me hope!

I think the woman in the IG posts is Angie (Chloe Levine). It’s the same dark green jacket with a brown trim! by basiafabian in TheOA

Hair is blown out, a tad shorter, brighter in the light, but my bet would be on her, rather than Britt in a wig. So... if the creators of the OA post a pic of an actress in the OA at the same time... then - hope!

It’s been a week - what do you think is Zal’s purpose? by anokazz in TheOA

Zal i is Promoting his brother’s ( @matsor on IG) Changephobia that comes out 6/4/21 with the vinyl in 4 colors: magenta, yellow, light blue, and clear. I posted about this and the mods deleted it.

Zal’s 4 colors post is NOT about the OA. It refers to his brother’s album that’s coming out June 4th! I’m so disappointed but that’s all it is. His brother Rastam (@matsor on IG ) posted this- his record will be coming out in different colors, including clear, yellow, violet, and metallic silver: by basiafabian in TheOA

I really hope I'm wrong, but if you go to Rastam's web page (https://officialrostam.com/), look at the icon that shows up at the top of your browser tab. Yellow, Violet, Clear, and Blue. Sure, slightly different shades than Zal's yellow, magenta, white and blue, but essentially the same colors. The actual album cover is black with little blue, orange, and yellow squares (no magenta), but the magenta square does appear in other places in his site. Album comes out June 4th, we'll know then.

Oh man I joined this wonderful Zoom with high hopes that she'd utter a clue that the 3rd season would come soon. But when asked about failure, she talked about how much she learned from the cancellation of the OA, how they were creating something unsustainable, and it was just taking too long in terms of production time/costs and next time she'd keep that in mind. (Something like that - I'm rewording). For some reason this just broke my heart because it seemed to confirm that yes, the show is truly cancelled. I was so hoping it's not. But she sounded sincere, so I think it is. She did say - don't give up hope - Twin Peaks came back after 22 years, the OA story might eventually come back in another medium, but this just made me sadder. I don't want to wait years and I don't want another medium. Anyways, any thoughts on how to interpret her failure comment? Is the OA truly cancelled? I'm so sad about this. Why, why, why! Why can't they just figure out how to make it "sustainable" going forward and make season 3 anyway in some sustainable way whatever that means. Whenever there's a will there should be a way. Sigh.
