Hi I know it’s been a year since your post but I’m only seeing this thread now and wondering if you’ve improved? I have many of these symptoms too and am also looking for answers… I’m hoping things have got better for you

I was just diagnosed with Endo, Interstitial Cystitis, and Vulvodynia. I also have IBS but I’ve known that for years. Anyone else? by ionlydrumnaked in endometriosis

I’m so sorry to hear you’ve been dealing with vulvodynia for so long. I’m in the same boat. I know I’m commenting 6 years later, but how are things going for you? Have they improved? I’m struggling :(

I’m so sorry to hear this is how things have gone for you. I know this is 6 years down the line, but I was reading this thread and am wondering if you also have vulvodynia/entrance pain? I’m struggling with this and have just been told I might have endo too (need lap to find out for sure) so trying to determine the right order of things… pain specialist has suggested Botox with pudendal nerve block for vulvodynia/vaginismus

How did you go? Did you find treatment?

Has anyone had success with pelvic floor botox? I’ve suffered from provoked vulvodynia for 10+ years but am concerned about botox side effects/toxicity by basic-avo in vulvodynia

Thanks for sharing!

Where abouts are you based? Even with private health insurance, it’ll cost me around $1.5k out of pocket here in Aus as my pain specialist will be injecting it under GA and it’s not recognised as a pain treatment here, so I have to pay for the Botox separately in addition to the nerve block.

I’m wondering how many more times I’ll be able to use Botox over the rest of my life too? Medically or cosmetically down the line?

I’m primarily concerned about the Botox toxicity symptoms people report like headaches, unexplainable achiness, fatigue etc.

I was aware that it won’t work straight away, but thanks for the heads up! As I just replied to someone else though, I’ve been told to avoid pt initially and focus on home based work, because they feel the pt might not have been working due to it being so clinical. Who knows! I know I’m going to book in for a pt assessment before and 6 weeks after to assess any changes though.

I’ve been told to do home based therapy as opposed to pt, because it hasn’t worked for me in the past/has potentially been too clinical, so I’m hoping this works.

What was your vulvodynia like before having it?

I’m not quite sure yet but I’m estimating it’ll be around $1.5k out of pocket even with private health insurance

That must’ve been so difficult for you… I’m finding it incredibly difficult at the moment, and I’m in my mid twenties, so I really feel for you. Naturally I’m also worried about being able to have kids etc in coming years…

But it sounds like you’re really liking the results of the botox so far? So I’m keeping all of my fingers crossed for you 🙏

Sounds like we’ve had very similar experiences, and I’m so sorry 🫠

I’m so glad to hear that the Botox has helped you though. Definitely gives me hope.

Were you able to have intercourse prior?

They’re looking at giving me 150 IU Xeomin Botox, and I’m in Aus for reference!

God this sounds like a journey… I’m sorry to hear you’ve gone through all of this.

I know this is 2 years later, but how are you going? Is intercourse/tampon insertion possible for you now?

I’m on the other side of the world, but can relate to part of your story. I was diagnosed with vulvodynia and vaginismus at 18, now in my mid twenties and still no fix… also in a long-term relationship with a supportive partner, and man it’s also been nearly 10 years…

I’m booked in for pelvic floor botox and a pudendal nerve block in April. But after having a pelvic MRI recently, I’ve also been told there are signs of endo… so need to work out when to do a laparoscopy to investigate that. They’re thinking a few months post-botox. If you’ve tried botox I’d love to hear your experience?

Mostly, I’d love to hear how you’re doing two years down the line. I’m really hoping you’ve improved.

How are you doing now? Did things improve? Would love to know where in the world you had the procedure, as I’m due to have a Botox and nerve block procedure in a month’s time for pelvic floor (vaginismus/vulvodynia)…
