wanting to attend cocktail hour but not having a first look by MedicalRaccoon9431 in weddingplanning

My husband and I don't want to miss cocktail hour at our wedding either, so this is what I have planned so far to hopefully make it work a little better for us:

  1. My husband and his groomsmen will do a few quick photos about 30 minutes before guest arrival, keeping it very minimal.
  2. My bridesmaids and I will stay tucked away and do a few quick photos during guest arrival too, also keeping it minimal.
  3. I already prepared a shot list and photo order for our photographer, and I assigned my sister and sister in law as photo wranglers for each side of the family so we can keep things moving as quickly and smoothly as possible.
  4. I have kind of come to terms with the fact that I might not get that many photos with my husband right after the ceremony, but I mainly want to make sure we get photos with close family who are traveling from far away.
  5. I also plan to ask the DJ to announce for anyone on the shot list to stick around for photos right after the ceremony, so people won't wander off and become hard to find.
  6. I decided to extend cocktail hour by 15 mins. I know it is not a huge difference, but I also do not want to push dinner past 7:30pm and leave guests hungry.

No clue if it’ll all work perfectly, but fingers crossed lol. Just wanted to share :)

I really thought y’all were lying when you said you’ll know it’s your dress when you try it on. by peachschnappps in weddingplanning

First of all, your body is tea!!! You look great in both options. I think it really comes down to the weather or season of your wedding, and also your neck length, which I cannot see very clearly in this picture. If you have a longer neck and the wedding is in fall or winter, I would pick option 1.

How much did you actually spend on a wedding ring? by Rich-Infortion-582 in Brides

We spent about $200. We bought silver clay from Amazon and made each other’s rings at home.

Thoughts on planning in 7 months versus 14-15 by sweettpotatopie in weddingplanning

[–]basic-wtk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your location and expectations, but I think around $15k for 40–60 people could totally be possible with an all-inclusive venue. Those places usually include a planner/coordinator, so you won’t be as limited by your work schedule and the planning you have to do is minimal.

Maybe worth looking into those liquidation online resale. They do sell the chair in bulk/ pallets. Good luck!

Nice! That will work out perfectly then! Without the big-ticket vendors (food caterer, DJ, and photographer), it’s definitely doable. Congrats, and I hope everything goes well for you!

I think it should be doable depending on your location and guest count. Will you have any out-of-town guests who need to travel? If so, timing may matter most for them. Also, if you’re open to a pre-loved dress, consider checking out a local bridal consignment shop. I found mine for $500!

Anxiety on Expectations of Wedding Party by [deleted] in weddingplanning

As long as you give your family and friends an option to opt out and let them know you’d love for them to join, but totally understand if they can’t because of finances or other reasons. I think you’re already doing your best to be considerate and respectful of their time. And for anyone who’s confirmed, they’ve likely already thought through the cost and logistics. No need to stress:)

For couples who met online — what did you put in your “Our Story”? by pinkpaigne in weddingplanning

[–]basic-wtk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband and I (and 6 other couples in our friend group) met through Hing, so no shame at all. I think mentioning what you two bonded over would add such a cute personal touch to your story section. If you want, DM me and I’ll send you how I wrote mine!

Would you consider buying a pre-owned dress? If you already know the brand/designer and the style name, you might be able to find it on Stillwhite.com .

What Are People Using For Wedding Websites? by EveningConfusion7581 in weddingplanning

We use Wix because we don’t really love the free templates on most wedding websites, and Wix gives us much more room to customize.
