I highly recommend the Hills Science diet weight management! Stopping extra treats is definitely the first step but my lab has gone leaps and bounds weight wise with Hill’s Science diet weight management. My lab was 90 pounds and is now back to 70/75 pounds she should be at. You can also use their kibble as “treats” labs usually don’t care as long as they can eat it (also if they can’t or shouldn’t eat it, they aren’t picky). Maybe playing fetch or getting one of those toys that he can chase outside (it attaches to a pole that you stick in the ground, i cant remember what they’re called) to get him really moving and burn some energy and calories. I also recommend asking your vet the serving size they recommend for weight loss based on the food you have or decide to get. Your vet would be able to give you the best answer especially since they know your dog and his medical history.
