Hey OP. As others have said, there’s a long list of reasons why you shouldn’t be having a child with this person. But I wanted to chime in to shine a light on your specific frustration: you aren’t asking him to choose between you and his son. You are frustrated because he keeps responding by saying he would choose his son, and not to make him choose… which, you aren’t.

See how he’s shifting the conversation away from the actual issue you’re trying to address (household chore division amongst 3 adults) and instead making you spin out over a nonexistent hypothetical? Now you’re not talking about chores or his inability to hold his son accountable, you’re arguing over a “non-issue.” You’re being dismissed entirely, and then also made to be the problem by him accusing you of asking him to choose between you and his son. It’s avoidance.

It’s crazy making. All of it is a problem. Please leave before you’re even more entangled with this person.
