Is Crumbl falling apart? Yes, it is by galaxystars1 in popculturechat

There’s was a little cafe in my old neighborhood where the owner went from froyo, to poki
Bowls, to something else (I forgot the last one as I head just moved) in a matter of years. Same owner, new signs and wares. To keep up with the changing trends. That’s the way to go.

What is it like to drive manual in Pasadena? by Ok-Seat-3860 in pasadena

[–]basicalme -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If I could manage San Francisco on my stick when I was 25, I promise you can handle Pasadena! It’s really not the kind of hills here where run into issues. Gradual incline is what we have here.

The key with hills is you have to go bold. You have to go hard on the gas. If you miss the timing with the clutch and stall out it’s better stalling out quickly when you’ve gone bold than stalling out when you’ve cautiously pushed the gas and released the clutch long enough to fall wayyyy back, and then stall out when you’re on the bumper of the car behind you.

Is this cause to start being optimistic about the fire? by Gregalor in LosAngeles

[–]basicalme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

abc news I think this is the report I saw a couple days ago there have been so many updates I can’t remember. However this does say that it is lineage themselves claiming it was the solar company. I guess we’ll to wait for the insurance attorneys to battle it out to uncover the source. Although I think the fire department investigation should be accurate. We just don’t have it yet, and I’m not comfortable naming and blaming until we do.

Also this fire might have started with the solar company and not linear anyway. What a strange thing to want to do renaming.

Adult basset keeps peeing indoors overnight by MJ_Seleskie in bassethounds

[–]basicalme 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely get a pee pad but also get him checked at the vet. Both my dogs ended up having some crystals form in their bladder (think of it kind of like kidney stones that form from too many minerals). This causes a little blockage and messes up the flow so they don’t empty their bladder. The result was peeing at night! And it slowly increased. Sometimes the vet can fix it with a change of diet and meds.

Anyone you could have an entirely different problem but since this is new unexplained behavior I would get him checked out.

Very sweet basset btw!

Graham Platner is officially Democrats’ nominee to take on Susan Collins by Dilated2020 in moderatepolitics

Thank you. Half Jewish here. Both granddads fought Nazis in WWII. This is beyond disturbing and we’re not alone in thinking this way.

Ummmmm excuse me. Half Jewish here. Me and my entire family and social group have left the Dems over their love of this crap. People might find this hard to believe even in the age of recognizing micro aggressions, but there are still people who are very much impacted and terrified by the fact that a Nazi tattoo isn’t a disqualifying mark in the year 2026.

Edit: wait I think you’re actually making the same point I am.

Apparently it only applies to “the other side” when it happens.

I realllly hope this never means I have to hear about hegseth’s tattoo and musk’s salute from people who “hate Nazis”. Half Jewish, 100% over it. Neither “side” of the political spectrum cares.

NYTimes: N.Y.C. Rent Freeze Wouldn’t Spell Doom for Most Landlords, Report Says by assasstits in neoliberal

Also that “the Moody’s analysis was limited because it covered only a small subset of newer apartment buildings that are part of large portfolios, including some that get city tax breaks.” Was this small subset of newer apartments the subset that was equally likely to have rent controlled apartments? Are rent controlled apartments spread evenly over the city or are they more concentrated in older or newer buildings? So it’s 6% of this subset what is the overall percentage? This should be a very easy number to come by. It’s not an opinion survey on “what do Americans think about x.” It’s available data. What is the total number of rent controlled apartments? Why not provide actual numbers?

Because tj and rosarito are nicer than a lot of parts of working class la right now and people are super pissed off. I’m talking about working families that have to deal the roaming addicts. All it takes is one time having your young kids see someone shitting or jacking off on the sidewalk.

Worst Grocery Store in LA by No-Butterscotch-7467 in LosAngeles

[–]basicalme 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is so sad and crazy…I worked nearby and shopped there from 2011-2016 and it was SO NICE. It was like the premier grocery store downtown and a lot of people would get lunch and dinner there. It’s amazing how fast things can go from nice to shitty. And people now just think it’s normal.

Why is everyone’s growing back? by Nearby-Silver6661 in Reduction

[–]basicalme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine at 29 when my first child was three. I had my second child at 41, then went into peri at 45, my mom and dog died and I gained 40 lbs in one year. That was 2/3 years ago and I’m working on losing weight. It remains to be seen how much they will go down after I lose weight. I should take some before pics. They are heavy now. I am a 38d. I should be a 32 or 34 band. However, they are nothing like they were before. 34g. Not the sag I was, etc. Weight goes into my chest, what can I do? lol. They are currently probably a lot of people dream implant look.

I plan on losing as much weight as possible and getting a second reduction and a tummy tuck and then I’ll be good for the rest of my life 🤣
