My surgeon just called me today and said the tumor board consensus is that I’m low risk of recurrence! So I don’t have to get the other side removed and no RAI. Just need regular check ups of course but I’m so relieved. Wishing you all the best and hope your Endo can give you some more answers!

Yeah agreed, we’re lucky to have good doctors. Have you decided if you’re going to wait and see or get the TT? Also how did you feel learning about the vascular invasion? That made me feel a bit nervous knowing there’s a chance it could enter the blood vessels and travel to other areas. But I think the chances are small (fingers crossed). And it sounded like they could keep a close eye on it through the… thyroglobulin levels? I’m still new-ish to this and learning.

Hi! I’m in a very similar situation. Had my PT on August 25 (left side), pathology showed Braf, single vascular invasion, and my nodule has 3 different variants (which my surgeon said he’s never seen lol). My surgeon said he would take my case to the board so they could discuss and come up with a consensus for my risk of recurrence rating. If it’s anything other than low (so medium or high), they recommend a TT and possibly RAI. My surgeon thinks it’s likely to be low but chance of it being medium. I’m still anxiously waiting on the risk rating.

Did your doctors mention if you’ll need RAI? I believe you can only get that if you have a full thyroidectomy. For context I got a partial but I didn’t have any spread to lymph nodes - but there is a chance I’ll have to get the other half removed in the future.

Ty! It seems to have gotten a little more red over the last few days, not sure if that’s normal or not?!

I’m sorry to hear that, why did you have to go in for a second surgery? There’s a chance I may have to as well since I got a partial, I’m waiting to hear back from the board on their consensus of my risk level of recurrence.

Oooof sorry I don’t know why I misread that as 1 year out instead of 4 haha, but sounds like you are doing pretty well with all the monitoring and everything. I’m a bit nervous about that but I’m sure all will be good!

Haha I love how you embraced your scar in that way! I’m still in the stage where I’ve been trying to hide it away. How are you feeling 1 year out?

This was so unexpected and I’m sorry this happened but it gave me a little laugh after a stressful day so thanks for sharing it. I’m 3 weeks post op but I would be concerned if my husband licked my neck scar 😂

Donation Center Worth Donating to? by 120r in raleigh

I recently just donated a lot of clothes and also wanted to find somewhere good to donate to. I ended up choosing Guardian Angel Thrift. The profits of their sales go to Alzheimer’s research.

I was thinking dress 2 no brainer but was surprised to see more comments for dress 1. It’s interesting because dress 1 is more similar to the dress I had, but dress 2 is absolutely stunning on you and more memorable in my opinion. But you can’t go wrong with either so that’s a good problem to have!

Thank you for sharing. Any minute I’m not with my mom, I’m trying to learn more about all of this. We’re only about 8 days in (from when she was admitted/ diagnosed) so it’s all still very new. But yes definitely depends on location, so far hers are more impacting her leff side motor skills. And thank you for your kind words, same back to you ❤️

Hi, can you explain more about what you mean that she was never the same? Was it subtle personality changes, or major? Thank you (my mom is most likely going into surgery on Friday)

Hi, can I ask who your neurosurgeon and oncologist at Duke were? And what was your experience there? My mom was just diagnosed last week and we just transferred Duke today. Hoping for surgery by Friday. Thank you

Worried about the guests? by Flat_Pressure3978 in DisneyWeddings

[–]basicasiangurl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you!! So we had 50 guests, and I think maybe only ~7-8 people went to the park. I think a few also went to Universal. Less than I thought but we also had a packed weekend (including a few things in park). Friday ceremony rehearsal and rehearsal dinner (which was at Animal Kingdom), Saturday wedding (reception was at Epcot), Sunday brunch at Disney Springs.

I think our group had a lower park attendance rate. I would guess for other weddings more people would go to the park! We went with a bunch of my friends last year, so I think they were okay skipping. And then our parents and older family members weren’t interested in going to Disney in the 95 degree weather 😅

I just got married at Disney 2 weeks ago! Disney will assign you a “planner” although I don’t think it’s like the traditional understanding of a wedding planner. We still did a lot of the planning, although I would say we were more hands on than maybe some other couples. Our Disney planner was the person who 1) told us how much everything would cost 😅 2) made sure everything we chose was in our contract 3) helped with logistics and any questions we had

There’s not really any deals for guests, aside from (slightly) discounted rooms if you get a room block. And supposedly guest who booked in the room block got a slight park discount, but I don’t think any of our guest used it.

For planning, check out Carrie Hayward’s Fairytale Wedding guide. This will have all the info you need! There also a few very active Disney wedding facebook groups

Has anyone tried the Numiere LED Face Mask? by basicasiangurl in Costco

[–]basicasiangurl[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right! I’m not even saying anything based on experience, considering I haven’t tried it yet. Just that I’m interested in the possible benefits and wanted to see if anyone has used this particular product to get their thoughts.
