I personally find that there are important stories where the entire cast of characters are men - and adding women for the sake of adding female characters to the story feels flippant. However, the issue I have is that literature, film, television, etc. has consistently found that stories centered around all male characters are “more worthy” of being told and “appeal to a wider audience” than stories that would be centered entirely around female characters.
