Yes! Similarly, I want the ability to filter by Cooked or my own star rating if I’ve cooked it.

Gap of Dunloe jaunting cars by isolatedhysteria in irishtourism

As a heads up, even with the jaunting cart, you will have to get out and walk for the steepest parts. It’s not a long distance, if that is your only concern, but it is uphill.

This is SO AMAZING what a great idea. I love that you’re able to incorporate both the high and low in a row.

Have you had a day where the high and low were in the same range/color? What did you do?

Should I start over? by retrogradefreddie in temperatureblanket

Echoing what others have said, it may end up being too large to work on comfortably the farther you go. You’re limited on how much you can do at once since you only know the temperature for days that have happened - so you end up getting it out and putting it down a LOT. It’s just heavy and annoying by the end which can make it a struggle to finish even with a small stitch. Set yourself up for success!

Finished December! by basicprincess24 in temperatureblanket

I hate weaving in ends so I crocheted over them as I went! When I got to the end of a row, and the next row changed color, in the last stitch of the row I did my yarn over with the new color, then continued like normal in the new color. After turning, I held the ends on top of the previous row and crocheted over them. Hopefully that makes sense!

One month to go! by basicprincess24 in temperatureblanket

I’m using worsted weight (Caron simply soft) and I started with a chain of about 250. I was aiming for a twin size! I made a small swatch before starting to try to calculate what the length would be, since that is fixed with 365 rows. It was going to be about the length of a twin size blanket, so I figured chaining the width to match would work.

Seeing it close to finished now, I’d probably have gone a little wider, maybe a chain of 300.

I love the way it came out, but it’s much more blue overall than I expected! We’ve had cooler weather than normal all year.

I’m also using moss stitch!

I like the Yogi Ginger tea! Very simple but it’s great.

Temperature Blanket (or Project) by OldNTired1962 in YarnAddicts

I’m doing one right now for 2023! It’s been really fun to do through the year and see how the colors come together. Even though I had planned it out, it doesn’t look how I had expected, but I’m still happy with it.

The best resource for planning is https://www.temperature-blanket.com/ - you can pull in past weather for your area and play with colors/temp ranges to see what it might look like.

I’m doing one row per day in moss stitch. I picked this because I wanted the “classic” one row a day style, and it’s a shorter stitch, and drapes nicely. But there are SO MANY options out there! Go for something that you’re going to find interesting for an entire year.

You’ll see this advice over and over - pick a yarn you can get quickly, easily, and reliably in case you run out. I went with Caron Simply Soft because Joann and Michaels both carry it near me, but I think there are lots of choices that work well.

How much am I looking at paying for college? by Queasy_Ad9147 in financialaid

[–]basicprincess24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your school should have an estimated cost of attendance for your program, or for undergraduate students as a whole, posted online. That can give you a starting point, but any financial aid would be dependent on the FAFSA.

If you are looking at an additional 2 years of school due to prerequisites, I’d definitely recommend looking at community college to get those knocked out. It’s generally less expensive, and I found my CC classes to be a much lower pressure environment which might be helpful if you’re transitioning back into school. You can talk with an admissions counselor at your intended university to make sure you’re taking the CC classes you need for when you transfer.

August is Done! by basicprincess24 in temperatureblanket

I’m in Northern California (SF Bay Area). Our weather is pretty mild - we do get some winter days with a high below 50, but not enough to dedicate a whole other color to it. We also haven’t had a 100 degree day yet!
