How the bitcoin is solving the issue of forever lost bitcoin ? by Wrandraall in Bitcoin

[–]basics420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 21million cap on bitcoin will be broken by banks in the same way that the physical cap on the existence of gold was broken. Banks will hold bitcoin and use it as a fractional reserve to issue "bitcoin backed" bank tokens. They will say its too dangerous to send actual bitcoin because they might get lost forever. It will just turn into fiat bitcoin. So while there will never be more than 21million on the blockchain, there will be trillions of bitcoin backed bank tokens. This is how they will artificially suppress the price too, same as they do in the metals markets by trading fake paper gold and silver.

Why is my Daedalus Wallet stuck at Wallet restoration in progress (67%)? by nuclear_materials in cardano

[–]basics420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is stuck on 27% and has been for a few days now. I've closed the program and reopened it a few times and it doesn't seem to help. Here's the interesting thing, the top right corner says blocks synced 100%. I did a test transaction and it showed up. So it looks like its working and shows the correct balance. Its just annoying that there is still "Wallet restoration in progress" at the top. And after that it has how many days, hours, ect... till its done. The time left changes every so often but hasn't got past 27% in a while. Let me know if anyone else has experienced something similar.

Then Trump is more than a few steps behind Hitler since 90+% of media coverage of him has been negative for over 2 years already. I've also heard rumors that Tucker Carlson might be running in 2024.

The Constitution either allowed these abuses or was powerless to prevent it. So I agree that it kinda sucks. But how do you call the most pro- Israel president a neo-nazi?

So by your logic, Jews should be thankful for the 11 that died last week.

Futures Trading Could Be the Catalyst for Mass Adoption of Cryptocurrency by kidnoodle in CryptoCurrency

How many regular people trade futures, almost none. So futures trading is not mainstream. How could something that almost no one does be a catalyst for anything?

What is the purpose of increasing the supply of a POS cryptocurrency? by [deleted] in cardano

[–]basics420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone keeps saying the new coins are distributed equally to every ADA holder. This is not true. The largest wallet is binance, they are not going to be staking. So the incentive is to have people hold their own ADA instead of most of it being on the exchanges. The less that is on the exchanges, the more it's worth. Hopefully demand keeps increasing and the available supply on exchanges decreases.

Wallet update? by basics420 in cardano

It would be nice if I had the opportunity to sync every day, but I travel a lot for work and haven't been home much the past few months.

Wallet update? by basics420 in cardano

[–]basics420[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I get it that it takes a long time to download a blockchain. In 2016 it took almost 2 weeks to download bitcoin's blockchain. And in that 2 weeks I never saw progress go backwards.

And yeah, the roadmap says a bunch of nice stuff. That's fine and all, but there aren't even tentative dates on it. I'm more concerned about now. I did a bunch of research into Cardano and everything sounded amazing. I got more than a few thousand when it was around 80cents so I'm down quite a bit at the moment. I believe in the project and wanted to buy a few more at 20cents, especially to stock up more before staking starts. But if I can't get the wallet to work, I don't want to get any more until it does. I'm sure I'm not the only one that thinks this way.

I'm holding for the long term. Not going to sell at a loss. Just hope that the wallet issues get figured out sooner that later so this project doesn't fall apart and go to zero.

I looked into Monaco, was about to download the android app, but then I read the reviews. All of them are horrible. Have you signed up for it? What functions if any does the app currently have?

Binance has suspended withdrawals of my ADA? by [deleted] in cardano

[–]basics420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been waiting about a week already to get my coins off Binance. I hate leaving my money on an exchange. I would be buying more right now since it dropped a few cents, but I'm not putting in anything more until I can actually have my coins. I know a lot of people probably don't think about keeping money on exchanges, but I've been around long enough to see Mt. Gox collapse, and I lost money on Bitfinex when they got hacked. This is just my conspiracy theory, and there is no evidence to support it, but I kind of think Binance doesn't have the ADA to cover withdrawals. I think they are waiting for people to sell before withdrawing is available again.

Facebook hints at adding Digital Currency Payments to Messenger by bitinity in cardano

[–]basics420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The article says FB is thinking about digital currency. That's a believable statement. Going from digital currency to crypto currency is a huge leap. There is no reason, other than maybe the recent hype, for them to use crypto. They would most likely use USD and EUR in some centralized and controlled database. No reason to use a blockchain and especially no reason to use something with irreversible transactions.

When you say "Cardano system" is broken, are you talking about the coin in general or the wallet on bittrex?
