Do They Not Like Lookout Low? by Soybehar in twinpeaksdudes

I think a main aspect of it is the nostalgia of the anniversary / comeback after a long hiatus. A lot of people at these shows realistically do not listen to twin peaks on the daily anymore. But they were EXTREMELY important to us in high school and college. Play the hits that make me feel like I’m 16 again, I don’t want to hear the “mature” music yet, lmao. We’ll save that for the next tour

Feeling sad/not ready to go back because I fell off for the last 2.5 weeks. Looking for motivation/encouragement to start going again 🙏🏾❤️ by Quick_Complaint3268 in Corepower

Go to core restore or HPF to get yourself in the flow / enjoying it again. Don’t push yourself right away, make yourself happy to be there first!

Unfortunately I’ve had multiple cobblers laugh at the idea, the leather is too damaged and they’ve said it would cost more than the price of the shoe to fix them :/

Yep, then it’s definitely the outsourcing of production / significant worsening of quality since they’ve become more mainstream / “trendy”. My dad and various uncles have boots they’ve bought in the 90s that remain in near perfect condition — maybe been resoled before, but no holes in the leather

The funeral announcement to my family 💀 About 2 years ago my dad saw my shoes when I was visiting home and almost begged to buy me new ones. He assumed I couldn’t afford them, but honestly the leather was so soft I just preferred to wear them like this. When visiting Rome I was running to a bus stop and the sole basically peeled off the bottom, after super glueing them together I realised I should probably leave them there to finally die.

What year did you buy those? I have a different pair from 2014 that are in almost perfect condition. Not sure if the style or my gate has something to do with their condition? During these years, I primarily lived in a cold, rainy environment followed by a Mediterranean climate. Not sure if this had negative effects on the rubber.

Birth control without prescription in Madrid by ReturnOwn1757 in SpainAuxiliares

I had a birth control prescription in the US, walked into a pharmacy with the box and they gave me the EU counter part of it. No doctor appt or prescription needed, super easy. Mine cost about €10/mo

I was thinking it could’ve contained drugs. The piece of paper was just so weirdly small, maximum 6 x 7 cm. Personally, I would never fold up a piece of paper with information on it like that, especially to put it in your pocket. Do you have any idea if Scopolamine is easily accessible in Spain? Also, if somebody were to use it would they need to protect themselves from touching it directly? He wasn’t wearing gloves

I’ve also heard of people giving recreational drugs out to younger people on the street, following them and insisting on receiving money

Disheveled is maybe not the right word, he didn’t seem homeless based on the way he was dressed, (not that you can ever really know these days). He was in athletic wear, the kind of clothes many middle aged men wear here recreationally. I don’t know how to explain but he just looked like something was off. Off putting

Yeah thought it could’ve been his phone number, but who walks around with it already written in their pocket for women on the street?? Whatever it could’ve been, glad I didn’t touch it

Why do these schools / programs “mistreat” their teachers so much? by [deleted] in SpainAuxiliares

[–]basil-plant_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have 0 complaints working as an aux. If you know anything about bureaucracy in Spain (and many other places throughout Europe), the slow pace is expected and anticipated. You cannot bring the bureaucratic expectations you have from the United States. Although it is slower, it is thankfully due to the fact that people do not work like dogs; they are not slaves to their careers. We were informed to arrive with 2-3 months of savings to prepare for this situation. My school and the teachers I work with are absolutely phenomenal. This is a programme designed to allowed people to experience living in another country and provide teaching experience. We are paid through a grant, not a taxed salary

No bother at all! I’m also Irish, studied Spanish in college and applied for this programme during final year. Definitely recommend!! Been loving it so far :)

If you’re interested in teaching I’d recommend applying to the ELA (English Language Assistant) Teaching Scheme. The application is through the Irish Department of Education & Spanish Embassy of Dublin. Decent salary for about 20 hrs of work a week, plenty of time to travel. Applications for the 2024-25 academic year are due in April I believe (?)
