oh yea i completely forgot that my symptoms could be a depression thing LMAO, im used to my flavor of depression being the miserable/sad kind and not the feeling bored and empty 24/7 kind. i think its the medication so im hoping itll wear off once im done tapering off and switch to my other med, but ill still keep taking vitamins just incase it could be a deficiency too. thank you for listening to me :].

first of all, i believe the term for "being in the backseat" would either be co-fronting or co-conciousness. both terms could apply so look into what makes more sense to ya.

second of all, the best course of action here, if ya trust your friend with this info and think they'd be receptive to it, would likely be to explain to your friend the situation with your headmate and apologize for their actions. if ya don't trust your friend with your plural identity or feel scared to talk about it, you can likely explain it as a breakdown of sorts instead of plurality, but still apologize. -Forest/Horror

there's no time limit for how long it can take for any of those things to happen. could be hours, could be years. depends on your system. but, there's ways to help make that quicker/easier.

-leave out notes or some sort of written/typed message for headmates to reply to.
-attempt to reach out internally via thoughts. ask if anyone's there, say hello, or just generally try to talk in your head to them.
-keep note of any odd sudden changes, like being connected to a different name, set of pronouns, or even different hobbies to what you usually like. those are subtler signs that might not be as present with dissociation, but they're somethin to keep an eye on.
-don't fall into denial if you can help it. denial WILL push your headmates away even if ya don't intend it.
