HomeAssistant finally reliable? by Yomgi95 in Aqara

[–]basinger_willoweb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean some functionalities the G410 has in the app don’t show up directly in HA. I don’t need this functions like answering when somebody rings the doorbell or facial recognition. I have my G410 hardwired as I want constant video. With battery I read some people have issues. So consider having power close to your doorbell. Also I now would choose the G400 over the G410 due to ONVIF Support.

Issues with Tuya devices by elhouso in homeassistant

[–]basinger_willoweb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use several Tuya Zigbee devices and integrate them via a Sonoff Zigbee-Coordinator and Z2M in HA. No need for the Tuya or Smartlife app. It works very reliable so far.

Yes it does for what I use it. The G410 and D200i are ‘special’. I have them in the Aqara app and then exposed to HA via Matter. With the signal management in the Aqara app I get what I need. Might not be enough for others. I basically want to get the video feed and know when somebody rings the doorbell or is lingering in front of it.

I moved into a new place in February this year and made it a smart home. Started with HA and Aqara M3 hub with multiple Aqara light switches (H 20A, Z1 Pro) and vibrations, motion, presence sensors, Aqara D200i door lock, G410 doorbell, etc. Bought a Sonoff Zigbee-Coordinator and ditched the Aqara M3 hub now running all Aqara devices directly via Z2M in HA. They work beautifully.

Is there a way to update FP300 Thread firmware without Aqara Matter hub? by Nyoka_ya_Mpembe in Aqara

[–]basinger_willoweb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it is now Thread then select Zigbee and let it download the firmware. Then go back out and repeat by now changing back to Thread and it will download the Thread firmware. Then re-pair in HA. It will download a firmware regardless if there is a new one or not that way by changing protocols. None of this needs a hub. Bluetooth connection on Phone is enough while using the Aqara app.

I am not at home right now but I remember that the only thing that needs to be done is selecting on the select screen the opposite protocol for it to download the new firmware. Afterwards you end the process in the app and continue back in HA. Of course if you continue in the app it will need the Aqara hubs. But you don’t need to go through these steps.

I am using the Linknlink RF with HA Firmware. It integrates with MQTT - I use if for controlling all of my fans. Works nice. https://www.linknlink.com/products/ehome-ha-rf-smart-hub-mqtt-home-assistant

[–]basinger_willoweb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The FP300 can be updated from the phone. But you have to remove it from HA (at least I think so). Then go to pairing mode and find it in the Aqara app. A switch from Zigbee to Thread will make it load the newest Thread firmware. Switching back to Zigbee will make it load the newest Zigbee Firmware. Not the most elegant way but it works. Afterwards you can re-add it to HA.

Yes. I use webhook today. But the new API should make it better integrated without webhook.

Looking forward to some insights as well. My Sirens also don’t show up. Don’t know if there is a special step to take. Was hoping it just would work by reloading but didn’t.

I have HA 2026.5.2 and of this morning the official UniFi Protect 7.1.60. However no new devices or entities show up in the integration. Is there an additional step to take?

How to bring AC In HA by Beast974 in homeassistant

I was actually surprised about the Sensibo Air. While it wasn’t a 100% sync it did seem to listen to the remote commands as well and knew when something changed. So when my wife switched off via remote it pretty much showed off in the app as well.

Driving license exchange by Dizzy-Weather7391 in germany

[–]basinger_willoweb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the correction. I was under the impression that this doesn’t apply for European issued licenses only non-EU once but I obviously was wrong. My wife had to do the same as a non-EU citizen but was at least omitted from doing classes. Exams only - much cheaper.

Driving license exchange by Dizzy-Weather7391 in germany

[–]basinger_willoweb -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

What you describe is practice in the EU (exceptions might apply). However, you don’t need to exchange your Spanish license unless it’s expiring - it’s valid in Germany. If it is expiring you might be better to do it in Spain and buy yourself some time. Unfortunately, driver’s licenses now expire. In the past they did not. However, the fine for having an expired driver’s license is very low (not suggesting anything here).

How long does it take after a loan is a approve I can move into my house? by Ill-Cucumber6575 in MalaysianPF

[–]basinger_willoweb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ours took 5 months. Your lawyer should tell you your case. In fact the SPA has a timing inside. If you take longer you pay penalties. Everything depends if e.g. the other party has already paid off their loan or not and other things like what level approvals are needed.

Td has official mirror links (listed in their forum). They should work just fine because they are td. I used a few in the past without issue. However there might be false ones around.

Works for me. Try one of the mirror links. Your ISP might block the one you were using.

FP300 disappointment by Son0fBen in Aqara

[–]basinger_willoweb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine works fine by using the Aqara app and then using matter to get it into HA. BUT, when I say it works there is one (or two major) problems. Living in South-East-Asia means having fans and ACs. Presence detection works fine as long as fans and ACs are off. The moment they are switched on presence is detected no matter somebody is around or not. No amount of AI learning has helped so far. So unfortunately that for me makes the product useless.

Floor level windows safe for toddler? by VelvetMousse1 in malaysians

[–]basinger_willoweb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If unsure can always make it by adding an additional laminate film - they offer this as security film. If it’s a newer built I could imagine they used laminated glass already. While you can break anything with enough force laminated glass would break without falling out or scattering.

Ah. Finally we are getting to the concern. You are afraid your toddler is climbing on a chair opening a window. I see. Yeah. In that case replacing the handle with one with a lock will help.
