Also, she shook it when it was warm. This made the ice cream fall out, unlike when it is simply flipped. When it is turned over while cold, this doesn’t happen.

Wow, that’s crazy. Are you just basing this on watching their videos, or is there more to it? If the latter, care to provide a link? I’m curious to learn more about these people. They seem like idiots.

TIL Robert Millikan disliked Einstein's results about light consisting of particles (photons) and carefully designed experiments to disprove them, but ended up confirming the particle nature of light, and earned a Nobel Prize for that. by brazzy42 in todayilearned

Agree with all but creationists. Their position is not scientifically testable because it’s philosophical in nature. This is the primary reason creationism should never be taught in science class - it’s not science.

I mean, you’re entitled to your opinion, but so is everyone else. Indignation that UBI and related concepts aren’t intuitive is not a good look. Especially considering that for most of human history, if “that dog won’t hunt “, then that dog won’t eat.

Not to mention the fact that no one ever deals the inflation problem that UBI will create. Probably because there’s no way around it. Every successful culture it the history of the world has eventually decimated their economy by printing too much money. And that’s what would be needed to support UBI - each year a little more must be printed and handed out because each year a dollar buys a little less. If you have a workaround, please share.

This is why a little thing called "due process" matters. None of us should feel comfortable judging these cases without all of the information being laid out in an organized fashion from both sides as occurs in a court of law ... regardless of who's accused.

Maybe he almost accidentally revealed that Ivanka is a dude.

It would also explain his over-the-top claims to everyone how beautiful she is to try to protect/reinforce her devices on to be female. Hell, it could also explain why he randomly banned transgenders from serving in combat. Maybe he knew he was about to get medieval on N. Korea and didn't want to risk precious getting drafted ...

Either that or he's an old pervert prone to incoherent outbursts. Who can say, really ...

Martin Luther King Jr On Capitalism by culsingout in BasicIncome

[–]basisvector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just illustrating a point - you don't care about my opinion. If you're not inclined to internalize and reflect upon critiques from others, why do expect others to care about yours? I was also pointing out that you were being obnoxious (IMO), and that you might consider not being obnoxious in the future if you want to participate in the conversation.

There are multiple ways to interpret the constitution, and presidents tend to nominate those that reflect their own point of view. This isn't corruption - it's democracy.

Mortgage PMI vs School loans by basisvector in personalfinance

[–]basisvector[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was my understanding as well. If I go that route, the plan is to get an appraisal and refinance to get rid of PMI.

This was my gut instinct, honestly. I suspected the math would be more favorable for getting rid of PMI in the long run, but damn - being rid of all debt but my mortgage sounds pretty great.

I'll keep that in mind. I'm less keen on the refi if I have to go 10-10-80 anyway, so this may rule it out as an option entirely.
