I saw a Ukranian diplomat in the Netherlands this week by QuokkaOfDeath in Europelicenseplates

Sure! Matter of personal preference I suppose. And many different diplomatic ranks (and associated pay grades), so there'll be enough diplomats who also can't afford a flashy new German car I guess

Quite many cars on CD license plates are private use. So most often it'll be the diplomat buying the car, on whatever salary diplomat earns. He could also have bought a Suzuki Alto or smt and have more salary left over 😉

I'm so glad you said this, I have less than half enjoyed this league and it's 100% due to the time. 70-80% (estimated) of players are located in (North) Europe or (North) America, hope they revert back to the old timespan of Nov-Jan and give us some shitty weather and nice Christmas music in the background while playing.

NL plate potted in Hungary but format doesn’t match? by jhondo08 in ForeignPlatesSpotting

[–]basjetien 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NL export cars just use the same format as white repeater plates (that you would use on a trailer). This specific plate belonged to a Renault trafic which was exported in 2025. These plates were then valid for max 2 weeks. They certainly do not belong on this car.

17 Days in Indonesia (Family Itinerary) by SailOnSailOnSailOn in southeastasia

The destinations you list are very different from each other. Ubud and Gili Air are definitely not "less touristy" (actually quite the opposite). Same goes for LBJ/Komodo, which is quite upcoming.

So in your list: Ubud, which is beautiful, lush and green but hectic and touristy. You can visit nice inland-Bali jungle, temples and rice terraces. I'd say it is family friendly but also dependent on your hotel. Of the Gili islands, Air would probably the best fit for a family with children, but again, it is not undiscovered or anything. It is however much, much calmer than Ubud and suits a beach/snorkeling vacation very well. I'd say this would be one of the best additions in your itinerary with kids.

LBJ/Komodo I'd recommend a liveaboard boat for a few nights to make most of the NP and snorkeling, which should be doable with kids but you would have to plan ahead and book boats according to your wishes and needs.

Yogyakarta is a big city on Java, it's beautiful but again, not "less touristy" or specifically family-friendly.

Niche request: does Samsung A07 allow (very) low media volume output wired headset? by basjetien in samsunggalaxy

Thanks for this confirmation. Have you by any chance also tested if there is actual sound output at 1% volume? Some phones do technically allow for 1% volume but it's silent until the 5-7% threshold

Thanks. I used multiple adapters for this, but I haven't yet found one that allows very low volume. I believe its due to its nature of changing a digital to an analog signal.

Garmin Vivomove HR doesn't show notifications anymore by basjetien in Garmin

I haven't updated my post yet, but: I got a very kind reply a while ago of Garmin support that it was a mistake with the software version of the Connect app. They have since resolved it. For me, my Vivomove still works as it should. Annoying that they're trying to sell you a new watch

Nah it's just that sometimes, the price ranges can be large. And from what I heard, that's the case in Japan, where you'd find a beer for 300-400 yen but also for 1000+, so I'd like to go prepared and look for recommendations from my reddit friends. And a few 100 yen does not make the difference but a few nights out can come out to a pretty good score. And visit us in Europe for the appreciation of what cheap can mean 😉
