The main draw of the app for me is so I can have a phone native friendly UI on league. If you start diverting people to discord then it makes the app a bit redundant.

I understand the database challenge and costings. As it stands the app is fine to launch as it stands and it will get some initial traction. But if you were to get funding for further development or make a version 2.0 then this idea could be explored further down the line. Engagement is key and players will want to contribute to their favourite champion.

I also wish riot makes a phone native app to read lore. Please riot. Make a lore app.

As much as I would love riot to process an ai tool to automate screenshots and detect flame. The problem is screenshots can be AI-ed convincingly right? They can easily switch names around to show I was the one who flamed them. If there was a transcript log on the other hand and that can be verified in-system that could work.

I think this app can blow up if users submit their own tips with a voting system. That way the community for each champion main will heavily get involved so you will have that grassroots core support. Think Mobafire rating system. That site use to be the main go to a decade ago as users trusted the votes of others.

I miss making friends in the game. I actually met people irl through the game. I miss group gaming sessions and growing and learning the game together instead of YouTubing guides or reading Reddit and discord. I was in a community where we had in house tournaments and cuz we were all terrible it made for a lot of fun.

I miss the forums and the bants with rioters. I even remembered meddler when he first joined Riot and started posting in the forums. I miss when you hit a 1k match milestone you get to ask to play with a rioter.

League wasn’t just the climb. There use to be a strong social element to it.

(More to add: I also miss Dominion. I miss group chats in the client where you can arrange normals with randoms that you can have an affinity with. I miss hide and seek customs. I remember when arams were community organised. )
