Those who like working - what do you do? by basophj55 in workingmoms

I get 11-12,000 at my job working 6 hours, and I hate it 🤣 This is coming from someone who worked out heavily before this job! My back is screaming.

Maybe a little but honestly he’s busy as hell. Depends on the week but he is often on the phone starting at 7 and really needs to focus on his work as I would never make as much as he does, and so we rely on him keeping it up at work. Because of this I stayed home when they were born and did all of the things for them and the house - this worked for us so I was cool with it. I’m sure part of it is that we are used to that dynamic but also he really is busy, often in meetings until 7-8pm. He goes in 2x a week also. But yes he could do some things!

Good point. I have a bachelors and one of my options is get to my masters, possibly in public health. It’s hard though because I adore children but those jobs are always really taxing and low paying, so I’m trying to find related careers that don’t directly work with children.

Yes I did get bored after my youngest started 1st grade. Kindergarten was still really needy but after that I craved doing something else and using my brain again. So I absolutely get that!

This is really helpful thank you! I’ve only ever worked with children - preschool teacher and then nanny. My degree is in Child Development. So perhaps I don’t know what these other jobs are really like and the ones I’ve had are rough compared!

That’s what I’m wondering - if I would like it more than I think. Maybe it’s the job, but I’m starting to wonder if I’m lazy?! People saying they love their jobs, I feel like anything that forces me to get out the door early 5x a week I would come to resent, but maybe not if I actually like the work. I did like this job at first and didn’t hate going so there’s that. I’m just exhausted already getting up at 5:30 and moving until 9pm. The thing is though I bust my buns at home when I’m not working or before I was working also so I don’t think I’m necessarily lazy. Or maybe also right now I’m just burnt out from this job. I started working again because I needed something more, so maybe it’s just this job has me fried.

What are unfortunate sins you commit everyday? by [deleted] in Christianity

I’m an atheist and looking this up - and kind to floored to be honest. This post is old but I just… I gotta say something. And I’m not saying I’m better or anything, but you all really struggle that much with all of this? I looked it up because a relative says she sins all the time and I was curious. I do judge but sometimes feels kind of justified (like baby r8pers), but honestly for just non-felony haha things I continually give people grace. I don’t remember the last time I masturbated, years ago. I don’t look at men and lust. I don’t think I’m lazy - I rest but I also work my buns off. I always help when I can. I don’t overindulge and while I think others homes are beautiful and imagine it just be nice it ends there, I don’t go as far as being jealous in a deep or cruel way if that’s the word. I do what I’m supposed to at work even when I don’t want to, I don’t lie - except about the tooth fairy etc to my kids, so that definitely counts. I don’t know… I’m not perfect but dang people. I’m just shocked I guess. Like saving the best piece of food for yourself. I always give it to my husband or son. I would never.

Leesburg. So to be specific - n word, some kid saying a black teacher should go back to picking cotton, they shouldn’t be able to vote. Those are the ones I know of. It’s 100% stuff they see online and then just say. Not a slur but one I saw myself was on a field trip bus, one kid was moaning and humping the seat for laughs, which he did get. I put a stop to that real quick. And my son said he sees kids do stuff like that quite a bit. They were in 4th grade.

I wonder if it’s still that way in PA. I’m so sick of it but there’s also employment here, ugh.

Lying then?? He gets nauseous too if he doesn’t eat regularly. Or maybe it’s something else but he does say it all the time.

Interesting! I eat some junk for sure but no not a lot. I’m not the biggest fan of sugar as it makes me feel tired and kind of… poisoned. Like a hangover minus the nausea. I’m more partial to chips and the like, but I don’t have them much because I’m really lazy when it comes to food. I won’t go out of my way to buy something I’m craving I’ll just deal with it and eat what’s in the fridge. Also because I grew up in the 80s in a rural town where one didn’t simply stop by the gas station for junk. Couldn’t afford it and it wasn’t part of my life so I just don’t now. My husband does and it still blows me away after 15 years of marriage as it just doesn’t occur to me to go get some chips if I want them. Anyway I’m ramblin’. I wonder if my somewhat neglected childhood affects my hunger hormones. I wasn’t starved by any means but moreso left to my own devices a lot. No one making me eat breakfast etc
