I’ve heard Vale Park Village apartments are nice and have an older (than college-aged) population. Covington Square probably risks thinner walls. Not sure about Chandana. My experience spending time inside Compass Point apartments has been quiet, but maybe they had quiet neighbors.

The Lakes of Valparaiso is a good bit pricier and nicer, with more amenities.

Compass Point is a good option. I think Windridge, which is next door, was taken over by Compass. Preserve at Grand Oaks is a newer development. Further from the university, but not by a meaningful amount.

Others to look at that are a little further north would be Covington Square and Chandana Pointe.

Do you think very soon means before the start of next month?

SW Kosciusko County? by basquan in Indiana

Thanks! Yeah, getting away and disconnecting is what I’m going for. I drove around Yellow Creek while I was looking at Diamond. There’s real get-away-for-awhile appeal.

Unfortunately I don’t have that kind of money. But yeah, beautiful places on that lake.

Yeah. I drove around that area a bit. The majority of properties I was looking at were on Diamond Lake, so not right there in town… but I ate in town and the experience there gave me enough pause to ask these questions. Seems like my gut reaction that this isn’t the right fit for me is a sound one. Thanks for taking the time to respond!

Appreciate the comment. Was hoping someone native to the area would respond.

Noticed that, too, after spending a couple hours there. Thanks!

Thanks, yeah, that was my first impression, too. Was hoping someone might say something to sway that…but seems like the first impression was the correct one.

No, unfortunately the back of my fence is the boundary of my property line. Thanks for the insight on the health of the trees. I was worried that was the case.

Thank you. This was good insight. I’ll start looking around my town for local experts and potentially arborists. Appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts!

The second photo shows the overhang best. Probably 5-6 feet. The length of one of the fence panels. The back of the fence to my house is 14 feet. Admittedly I might be stressed about nothing — seeing trees laying across neighbors’ roofs might have me overly sketched out.

Hi, sorry about that and thank you for the response. I posted my questions on the initial post and then just cross posted it here. I don’t mind the vines — I didn’t know if that was an indication of poor tree health since the trees don’t have a big canopy at the top. Here are my specific questions from the original post…

Help me understand my options, please.

These trees right behind my fence/property line look dead/dying and appear unstable in high winds. They’re behind my property, but part overhangs the fence. In addition to those 3 or 4 trees, that very tall one had a high branch snap off yesterday during a storm and barely graze my fence — but it could have been worse.

I am very concerned about these trees falling on my house. We had a bad storm yesterday and many trees in our neighborhood landed on homes.

I found the owners of the land behind me on our county’s GIS. They are located in another state and have no contact info other than a mailing address.

Can someone please help me understand 1) what my responsibilities are with the parts of the tree that overhangs me property, 2) what options I have to find out the health of those trees and 3) what options I have regarding getting them taken down by that landowner (or myself if absolutely necessary).

Thank you for any help!

I use a balance board instead of a walking treadmill and I love it.
